Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

I will say compared to other gamer dens, his is probably the cleanest and least cluttered I've seen in a while and he actually has space to work on stuff on his desk.

It does make me sad though how many people's homes are just starting to look like a store.
I just don't understand how he manages to have so many figurines standing on shelves with a cat, that clearly likes jumping up on the desk judging from that pic. I have exactly one figurine and I gave up having it on the shelf and just stashed it in a drawer after it getting knocked down the 3rd or 4th time by the cat.

Noticed a lot of people that collect figurines have cats, and the cats don't seem to bother them too much. Maybe after the first few crashes the cat realizes it needs to stop.

most cats are pretty delicate when they walk around on a surface and unless they like to just cause a mess for no reason, they won't jump on something where they can't comfortably sit
some cats are just more chill like that

Cats only knock over and/or otherwise trash your shit when they're angry with you. If your cat does something destructive to something of yours (like knocking stuff off shelves, etc.), check the litter boxes, food & water to make sure their basics are covered, give the little furball some love, dole out some catnip and bust out a fresh scratching post, because you've somehow dropped the ball and it's time to dig yourself out of the hole and put yourself back in Mr. Kitty's good graces.

no, some cats absolutely do trash things for fun and no other reason
but cats have individual personalities like people, they differ from one another
if your cat isn't usually the destructive type and suddenly decided to wreck shit outta nowhere, THEN you gotta start wondering why

Also please enjoy this scary "your therapist wants to talk about this" bedroom that scared r/Maximalism. I think this person smokes weed in this room. Just imagine. No, I don't want to....
The most wtf part of that image to me is the 4 cans of spray paint among the sea of cute shit.

Came across this guy on youtube. He has this weird anime character that's plastered across all his thumbnails (spoiler alert, I clicked on a video hes bald and looks like hes in his 40s). It's all gaming consoom content but I didn't see anything particularly interesting. His bluesky on the other hand......

This thread is filled with rooms just like this but I can never get over just how tacky and gross it all looks. Plus he's got the place lined with thousands worth of gaming merchandise but still has that cheap folding chair?

I hope the cat is okay. Can definitely see this man trooning out.
This is all incredibly benign, especially nowadays. Homie even took his funkos out of their boxes

I mean you can only do so much to organize things on a shelf. This seems generally lke a personal game library with some shelf decoration gaming tat stuff but it just reminds me more of rooms with large DVD/book shelves in one corner that friends and family had way back in the 2000s.

Those kinds of loaded media libraries seemed so cool to me as a kid. Granted most people like just having a lot of stuff.

Not so much anymore.

Yes they are but figurines are very light and can get easily knocked even when they don't intend to disturb it when they're just tiptoeing around exploring. At least the one I had was.

He's not knocking it down on purpose, only as a side effect of using the shelves to get around. My cat is pretty well behaved and even then the figure never stood a chance. My shelves are cat proof now

Honestly, if three bookcases of games and a couple of shelves of figurines are the extent of his hobby, then he's doing much, much better than myself and my book hoard addiction collection. It's clean, it's organised, it's functional, there's no porn figurines. Many of the games are in vintage format and he looks to be bilingual. This is a passion collection, not a consoomer's hoard. He could do with a better chair, but if that one suits him, that's his business.

My stupid cat will sit anywhere he wants, objects be damned. On my phone, on my sunglasses, on stacks of papers.

I really dont get funkos, theyre so ugly and have to be an impulse buy thing for non-collectors

The main draw for the non hoarders seems to be that there's a Funko for just about every creative work in existence, especially for extremely obscure franchises that have little to no official merch. They're often the first or only company putting out official figures aimed at adult collectors of a children's property too, eg MLP.

When is the Kiwi Farms Funko coming out? I (m47) promised my partner (f54) I won't buy anymore Funko and I have never lied to my sweety ever but I would for the KF Funko. It would be worth it even if she forces me to live in the shed for a month again.
