I'm glad that shit was mostly for the first three shitty Disney Star Wars movies, since it seems like Soylo and Rise of Soywalker didn't have nearly the promotional blitz. The craziest part is I was seeing those ads for months and months after the movies came out on my food.Yeah, there was this enormous marketing blitz at the time where they would slap the Star Wars logo and promotional pictures of the nuWars characters all over absolutely every product possible. Well, except for refrigerators and ovens, which was for Rise of Skywalker. Either GE thought that a Star Wars tie in would sell more fridges or Disney thought that the whole "Disney mom" segment was their new Star Wars consumer.

I don't get it at all, like Hollywood has all these bullshit ways to save money (like using bottom of the barrel scriptwriters hence why movies suck these days) but then they'll pay to slap Soy Wars shit onto half the shit in the grocery store. How many people are actually being convinced, even subliminally, to see their shitty movie from that?
Yes, it's very likely a contributing effect on the obesity epidemic. I remember as a kid 20 years ago they showed ads for junk like Pop-Tarts Hostess shit, McDonalds happy meals, etc. all the time. While I don't agree with full-on nanny state bullshit like banning McDonalds, I think there's a clear benefit in not having kids being bombarded by commercials for products likely to reduce their lifespan via obesity, diabetes, etc. The fact of the matter is that kids aren't smart enough (and many parents dumb enough) to really grasp the implication of what they're putting into their bodies.Mexico banned cartoon mascots with that excuse. No Chester Cheeta, no Tony the tiger, etc. The products can still be sold, they just have to change the packaging.
I am pretty sure its not the only country were that kind of marketing on food products is regulated. I am generally pro-free market type of person but even i agree the stuff that is directed at kids is insidious and a lot of it should't be a thing. Everyone like to shit on Mcdonalds for example, but my one gripe with them is the Disney deals and the insane ammount of marketing they do for kids. It seems absurd to allow so much media manipulation directed at a demographic that is not even supposed to make their own nutrional choices.
