There’s something about people who hoard video games that particularly annoys me. Personally I can’t stand owning a game that I’ll never play or a book I’ll never read; it’s the very definition of wastefulness.
Like I know for a fact the YouTuber’s that have shelves filled top to bottom with games have probably played less than 10% of them. These online personas feel so fake and gay yet they think by having tons of gamer crap in the background it somehow makes up for it.
The worst part of it all is that I’ve realized that personalities such as the AVGN who I used to really enjoy back in the day are partially responsible for this trend of having tons of crap in the background of their videos.

I'm just trying to imagine what this looks like where these guys have the same clout and hypebeastiality as the NBA sneaker heads. Bringing their Capsaicin Clan and filling an entire ensuite with hot sauce at the Thunderdome.

It's because he's literally buying the bottle and wasting the product. Why doesn't he just use the sauce (you know, the product he actually paid for?) and keep the bottles for the shelves after a wash? Boom, it's still consoooooming but at least he can say he got some value out of his collection. Most of those sauces will probably turn in a few years so he's basically collecting shitty fermented hot sauce that's gone off.

Those who hoard fragrances, it’s common in the community for them to wish companies released smaller bottles. Because they argue that they can’t use up bigger bottles. Even though smaller bottles is more expensive per ml than the bigger ones. So for a normal consumer, it’s a straight up scam with smaller bottles.

It's because he likes the look of the full bottle probably. But you can fill the bottle with distilled water or vinegar - something that won't rot after a few years, add food coloring, seal it with a bit of paraffin and have fake hot sauce on the shelf. Or, hell coat the inside with paint.

I remember reading in A&H about how Russia's invasion to Ukraine might change how people perceive war, since everyone nowadays has a HD camera in their pockets we all can see how horrible war can be, boy i wish i could believe that, because seeing blue checkmarks making Harry Potter, Marvel and Star Wars analogies makes me think nothing will change.

I have no idea why people buy modern single comics. Even assuming you like the garbage stories or find the once a year okay run you are just better off waiting for the trade. It'll be cheaper in a price per issue sense, have better binding, no in issue ads, and the single issues are all written for the trade.

You’re misunderstanding the situation here.
If they cared about good stories, they wouldn’t be buying comic books at all. The American comic book industry (re: Marvel and DC) are almost entirely propped up by consoomer collectors (as per the video) and speculators who are betting on X comic becoming valuable in 6 months because a Disney + show is coming out featuring that character.
There’s also something called “variant covers”, where for every X books (x = 100, 500, 1000, etc.) a store buys, they’ll be given a “special” variant that is supposedly rarer and more valuable, to the point that they’ll buy 100 of a shitty book they’ll sell maybe 20-30 of just so that one high roller (read: consoomer) can buy the variant for $300 and cover the cost of the wasted books.
Like, I despise Funko pops with a passion, but at least they’re running a good grift. Marvel and DC literally wouldn’t exist if they weren’t leeching off of Disney and WB.

The people whose entire lives revolve around the lives of fictional characters can't be saved. They've had a privileged enough life that the true realities of war and poverty aren't relatable in the slightest to them (well, some of them say so, but their idea of poverty is they didn't get all the toys they wanted growing up.) so the only way they can understand or relate to anything is their characters.
It's kind of sad, honestly.

When looking around to possibly buy my first model kit as an early birthday gift for myself along with some other stuff, I honestly began to wonder where people store all their model kits and figures because, I've followed a lot of artists for awhile and when they're not posting their works they show pictures of all the figures and models they've bought online and they're often in pretty sizeable hauls. With the model kits you have to build yourself I can at least see maybe having a display case to put them in and display them to show that you have some technical skills with building.
However what about stuff like this:
what's really the point buying figures like these? It's not even something notable like the first ever snake eyes and storm shadow models in mint perfect condition and it's from those shitty live action films. It gets kind of ridiculous when you get into bulky shit like Transformers where not only is there like 20 different versions Optimus prime, but they're all also in different sizes which makes storing them an absolute nightmare and that's not even taking into account if whether or not they keep the original packaging if they want to resell it. I used to be friends with a kid whose dad was super obssesed with transformers to the point where not only was there a storage case for the transformers in the living room, but also the kids rooms as well and I remember being somewhat intrigued on how much one thing can control someone.
On the model side of things WH40K is crazy when it comes to collecting the models depending on what faction you prefer, like the imperial army where you need so many of them to actually play properly, but also get the paints and meticulously paint them since they aren't colored. Then the question changes to how the hell you're gonna carry all of them to your local hobby shop to actually play with other people, does GW sell containers to carry your figures around or is it a figure it out on your own/ look for third party sellers? There's also the matter of WH40K having multiple changes to character stats overtime: what do you do with units that have been nerfed or banned? do you still keep them and play with custom rules with friends, and there's the fact that they update models like the Astartes almost daily.

As someone who had some investment in American comics cover Variants are just for show nowadays. Don't quote me on this since I'm going off memory, back in the 90's a lot of comics and comic variants were valuable which became a big thing for speculators and the big 2 were pushing it as much as they could with shit like holofoiled textured variants for big events or a soft continuation of a series that was brought back to issue #1 so they could sell to the speculators. When the comic book industry finally crashed it crashed hard with most of those comics now becoming worth about as much as a McDonald's value menu item. It also nearly destroyed Marvel and Dc because alot of the old audience was pushed to the side for speculators. More or less yeah. Most prewar comics are incredibly valuable due to their genuine scarcity, same with baseball cards, and that why these sorts of speculator markets always crash.

Those comics also launched century old franchises. It'd be like assuming a Mighty Mouse VHS is worth the same as a Steamboat Willie film reel. The absurd prices of old games has its origins in stuff like actually rare NES cartridges going for a lot. No, your copy of Madden 2001 is not worth even one cent. Half a cent is still pushing it.
