Funko Pops are absolute zero. The rock bottom of collectibles. The platonic ideal of plastic trash. They have zero artistry and zero aesthetic appeal, and their value is judged on the condition of the box and the sticker it has on it, because you’re not meant to ever take it out of its plastic prison.
Figures/statues (anime or not) have an incredibly wide range, you have cheap and shitty ones, and you have really nice-looking, well-painted ones. On the high end, a figure can be appreciated for its artistic value, even if you have no emotional connection to the character it represents. Funko is… not that. Funko Pops offer no intrinsic value other than being bug-eyed, soulless reflections of popular culture, sanding away all the details that make things unique and forcing them into identical bobble-head vessels.
There is literally no creature on this earth that occupies a position lower than the Funko Pop collector.

Lego scalpers and consoomers are getting fucking horrible these past 2years in terms of how they operate. So many fucking used lego have spiked in price to the point a small shop by me that's basically a hobby store that specializes in buying and selling used lego parts has disclaimers on it's windows and inside about "rising prices online" being responsible for them having to raise their own prices. Some of the shit in there now goes by online scalper prices, the worst kind too. I'm talking 70 dollars for Lego jabba and 100 for lego palpatine kinda prices.
At least I can kinda understand WHY the star wars lego prices started spiking, it's because scalpers saw the new game coming out and via "market speculation" shit bought up all the cheaper listings. It's not just those this shits happening to though. I found out recently one of the rock raiders minifgs recently vanished from the internet save for 6 sellers or so all charging $300-$870 for it for some fucking reason despite it being from a $2 set or some shit like that. One that literally just only came with the figure and a stand, and wasn't hard to come by. That shit HAS to purely be due to reddit "value speculator" types like the random hike on the powerless nuva bionicle mask variants from the bohrok kal blind boxes. Those went from like $3-10 to $700 for all of them but the miru a year or two ago and it's entirely tied to the "RARE/OBSCURE LEGO!!!!!!" consoomer types that don't know basic ass facts or lie to try and flip shit or get clout.

It’s not a flex, they have no choice as no one below Vice President gets their own office nowadays. They go to meeting rooms in order to not piss off all of their coworkers by having a call at their desks.
The other video is just showing off that Google has free food and a game room. It’s clearly an intern or new grad judging by the fact that no one gets excited about their office fish tank after the first day or brags about taking a train and walking through a lobby.

She didn't even sound excited about the fish tank which adds tothe alien nature of it all. Not even a mild amusement reaction just the same monotonous "THING WAS HERE YOU GUYS AND THING WAS HERE ALSOOOO" kind of delivery. Maybe they're reading off a script or something I dunno it's just really fucking weird and inhuman feeling. Like even if you're used to a fishtank being there after the initial "woah" moment there's usually a sort of mild form of amusement from watching the fish themselves or being assigned tot take care of the fish or some shit like that. What kind of soulless corporate tickbox mentality do you gotta have to just glaze over the fish in a way that she did?

I am well aware that they all just sit in an open floor office. Just find it amusing how they try to romanticize it... their whole corporate existence that is.
Doubly so because I have my own office at work - but that's doing work all these overpaid NPCs probably consider oh-so-far beneath them... LOL.

It's the hip new thing in bugpeople cities. Real estate is so expensive that renting out actual office space in more or less impossible and so shared office space tries to fill the void. Open floor plan, no privacy or personal space provided by cubicle walls, and more often than not multiple companies sharing the same floor. Like a traditional office but even more miserable, and bugpeople defend it.
PS: Not gonna lie, if I was allowed to have a fish tank at my desk I would have probably tried to tough it out at my last office job.

That’s not the case for Google, they’ve spent over $10 billion on real estate in NYC alone. It’s a choice on their part, management at a lot of companies loves open plans for the little people while they themselves get offices, or in Google’s case, entire buildings to themselves. Also, that fish tank is clearly in a lounge area far away from the desk farms.
I think that’s just how the TikTok meme goes. You’re supposed to sound bored and disinterested at the “awesome” stuff because it is such a normal everyday thing for you. Your viewers are supposed to be excited, not you as that’s beneath you. The idea is like how no one is excited because they have an electric toothbrush instead of a manual one. To someone who has never seen one before, it is impressive, but to someone who uses one every day it isn’t even worth mentioning that they use one.

That is a surprisingly anemic game room for a place like Google. I worked a shitty blue collar job at one point that had a better one than that, and there were always a number of guys in there playing Smash Bros. The one in that video is dead as fuck.

I think that's what's happening here. They are so removed from the natural world, the Dao, god's creation, whatever you want to call it, that they see things like fish as inanimate objects. The fish are at the same level as a foosball table.
You know what else is open? The plains. The place where our young got swooped by eagles and our ancestors got ate by predators.
I can't believe I actually envied these people at one point. I didn't understand all the "perks" were meant to keep you at the office so you didn't leave. I actually thought they'd give you more time back. What a dumbass I was.
Offices are also installing "Phone booths" for this reason. It's the same size and shape of a traditional phone booth/box, but has a little shelf for your laptop. So you don't even get a conference room for calls; it's just a literal pod.
You know those brain scans where people are shown pictures of different things, and then sometimes the same area of the brain lights up for "object" when they're shown non-object things? (e.g. All those headlines about "Men don't see scantily clad women as people!")
