My perfectionism doesn't just effect fiction writing. It affects every single thing I write, be it a forum post, a status update, or even a message to my friends. I try to be simultaneously eloquent and informal, but most of the time, it comes off as autistic. When I'm on here, posting in some other lolcow thread, I don't really have the patience to read over a hundred pages, so yeah, the end result is going to be shit.

No offense Connor, but if his appearance in Len's thread is anything to go on on Alphaboy's character, I recommend you go back and redesign him. Right now, he comes off as an unlikeable dickhead that we all want to punch. ... Not saying that that's a bad character to carry a story, since there's many stories that feature extremely unlikeable protagonists, but they generally fit the story's tone or there's some sort of satire or wit to the writing. So far the only thing I got from Alphaboy is that he wants to beat up autistic foamers for... uhhh... existing. He sounds like some guy that gets a hard on whenever he stomps on ant hills.

Whenever you're about to say something. stop and ask yourself, Is this something other people might find creepy or off putting? Y? or N? If the answer is yes don't say it.

Every time I come on here, I get lectured and insulted. I get told I have no future, that I can't contribute anything to anyone, ever, and that I should just do society a favor and blow my brains out. That's not funny, that's just sociopathic and mean-spirited.
 
Connor took an almost month long sojourn from the site because users have unrealistically high expectations from him. Taken day by day he seems the same as always. But he's finished RE, is working on Alphaboy, has finished 2 semesters at college, and has been a good grandson.

What makes Connor interesting (for me) isn't what he accomplishes in a certain amount of time but how he thinks and what he does and how he writes. He's fascinating, but so are wolves and they don't like being poked with sticks either. :soap:

For sane people, that would be enough for them to never come back. But you do. Sometimes after a week, sometimes after a month, you come back and get pissy at the abuse.

Just saying that it's not entirely the Farms' fault here.
