I kind of suspect that Connor is projecting a lot. He assumes that because he's a darkety-dark nihilistic individual who does not understand these things you humans call "emotions" and can only reproduce them based on what he's learned from television, everyone else is doing the same.

Conner is the reason pregnant women shouldn't watch noir movies. The little bastards come out thinking they're hardcore, seen-it-all, alcoholic detectives.

I'm gonna ask again, because I love being an annoying asshole. @Connor Bible why were you given ten weeks for this assignment? Why not post it again too?

Also yeah you didn't even ask for your parents permission. (Do they still have PoA?) I think you enjoy being lazy more than putting in the minimal effort needed to hang with a genuinely cool girl which is sad.

It's not like you even have to tell them you're meeting someone at Carowinds. Who doesn't want to spend a nice day at an amusement park now and again?

He doesn't want to go because he doesn't want to step outside of his comfort zone because he's never really been expected to in his entire life.

Connor maybe if you knew how to drive, your parents would have less say over your life. But you need an excuse not to do anything so its probably going to happen after graduate (?) from college.

The latter, as far as I can tell. I sometimes wonder if his parents are actually alive.

I can't currently find the post where he says he hates his parents for crying over his hospital bed after he tried to kill himself. It was a great one because it was obvious they were hamming it up and only acting like they cared about him and how could anyone believe their crocodile tears??? Anyway here are two posts where he both projects his own faults on his mother and is super pissed they are worried about him after his second suicide attempt.

tl;dr - If they are this strict it's for a very good reason

"-Living vicariously through my success."

I imagine she doesn't get to do that a lot, if ever. I can't imagine her getting that high on the success of her twenty-one year old son finishing a 1,000 word book report over the course of 10-weeks.

Not to get all internet psychologist here, but that sounds worryingly similar to Ted Bundy, who was baffled that anybody cared enough about the women he killed to investigate his crimes.

the folks are unaware of this thread's existence. Associating with someone who participates in it may not be a good idea... Just saying.

my parents are rather conservative when it comes to the internet. My mother's the only one in the house that uses it, and she always uses it for some practical purpose (like work), unlike me. My folks are also kind of protective when it comes to people I meet online, understandably so, given the times we live in.

Stranger danger, creepy folks selling drugs to kids, "mom I think dat guy wants to raep my ass", yadda yadda. We heard it all before. Do they know your actions? Please elaborate.

Hasn't he attempted suicide? They may have legitimate worries that "I'm going to meet a friend from the Internet" is code for "I'm leaving the house to off myself." If I had a kid, and that kid had a psych history, I think I'd be a little overprotective about anything and everything he did as well. Not that all concern is warranted (and he might be safer with @Altissimo, who is studying therapy, than with a lot of people), but I can understand their POV on this, I think.

It would be even more suspicious seeing as how Connor has no friends. :heart-empty:

Whoa, I missed a bunch.

So @Connor Bible finished his book report, huh? I still can't believe that took ten weeks. That's an entire summer session. Well, hopefully the report actually ended this time. Since after three pages of fluff we got
