Just to be pedantic, Mommie Dearest (the movie version) is based on Christina Crawford's autobiography of the same title. I have no idea how much sensationalism was added between the book and the movie, but she was Joan Crawford's adopted kid. I recall reading something about the film studio trying to soften Crawford's screen image by pressuring her to adopt a kid IRL. The whole mess also got turned into a Blue Öyster Cult song. But yeah, in this case he's got one true-ish story thrown in.

Kind of like how he doesn't actually care about writing, but rather the concept of writing and talking about it.
 
Holy fuck, I know this guy from WrongPlanet and Facebook. I never knew he had a "lolcow" reputation though.

I remember seeing him, in a fit of sexual frustration, declare himself a "misogynist" on one FB post some time back (probably a couple of years), which grossed me out. He hasn't said anything like that since (since I barely see him anymore on FB), but that kind of stuff does make me squeamish. But maybe I'm just hypersensitive to that kind of stuff.

It's not just you. In addition to hating women he also hates a few other things such as his parents, his friends and adoption for some reason.
 
In case you're wondering why I'm so silent, it's because I've been preparing myself for my next semester, which happens to start tomorrow. I'll also be watching Juno in the near future and working on my writing, so don't be alarmed by my increased absence.
