Would it kill you to be a little proactive? You have people who genuinely care about you and are giving you quality advice, but yet you still choose not to improve. What's the point?Jack, which is unfortunate.

Other than helping my grandmother out when I'm over at her place, nothing of any significance. I try to find things to do, but I get entangled in constant, silent arguments with myself over whether its the right thing to do, whether I'll follow through with it, and so on.What the fuck do you spend your time doing?
A problem I have, in addition to laziness, is rabid perfectionism. It always has to be what my super-ego desires.I wouldn't add writing when you can't follow through on writing and editing your own work in a timely fashion.
excuses
Okay, I get that. You clearly have a problem. Have you talked to your therapist about this? Do you realise its a massive problem?Other than helping my grandmother out when I'm over at her place, nothing of any significance. How am I making excuses? You don't have this. Stop with the excuses.
How am I making excuses?
So... you're expecting me to go out into the world and just do stuff without worrying about success or failure? My family has a saying: "Ain't nothing to it but to do it."
Meaning, if you spend all your time thinking about how to get something done, you'll just end up not doing it at all, which you have consistently demonstrated to us.

By talking about all the things that prevent you from doing something instead of actually doing it. @Locksnap 's right, do you talk to your therapist about your laziness & "rabid perfectionism?" Because they seem to be particularly crippling. How am I making excuses?
Everyone worries Connor, that's life. But people push that aside so they can do what they want and put food on the table. People who are successful in life don't do what you do, they push themselves everyday to be great. You don't push yourself then you complain like it's anything BUT your fault.So... you're expecting me to go out into the world and just do stuff without worrying about success or failure?

So, I'm expected to persevere, knowing I'd most likely fail?
You won't know if you will fail until you go out and try. You literally have nothing to lose by trying. So, I'm expected to persevere, knowing I'd most likely fail?

Who says you'll fucking fail? Right now, your task is to make a resume. If you apply yourself, you won't fucking fail because it takes only a few minutes. After that, your task is to apply for various volunteer positions, wherein again you won't fail unless you can't leave the house. So, I'm expected to persevere, knowing I'd most likely fail?
