It depends really, demonetization can be a form of censorship if targeted directly at someone as it can be used to incentivize people who depend on youtube to make money to stop talking about X in fear of hurting themselves. It's a more subtle tactic than outright removing them which would just make the uploader a victim since they can still talk about the subject, they just won't make money doing it. Hell she could have just said some nono words and tripped youtube's automatic filter, I dunno, I don't watch her stuff.

Major issue for the early anime and manga fans had was with "who" is doing the curating. Given Viz wasn't shy about censoring certain mangas or 4Kiding anime to their wants. Studio Proteus while better still inhale their holier that thou farts and censored manga they felt should be censored.

From what I seen from early 90ies to now. fansubbers and anime companies were translating wherever they can get their hands looking to strike gold. Especially given the various genres, subgenres, niches that appeal to one group but another group doesn't care for.

There are a lot of lolcow threads that don't have a dox. It's not required and is usually included to protect people FROM a lolcow. The thread I most recently got into lolcows from proving grounds has no address dox, just the idiots country and city.

A few months ago or so I came across a livestream (I want to say it was Midnight's Edge or that sister channel of theirs but am not sure), as I joined Tom was in some heated "debate" with what I assume was a progressive youtuber, he was asking for proof of people harrassing others or something. After a few minutes of that Mecha joins and just starts screaming at the progressive dude like a crazy person, to the point that Tom removed her from the call again.
I wonder if that is when she decided she needed to ReeToo him.

edit: found the stream. Seems Mecha had been on earlier and had to be kicked already. Haven't seen the entire stream so don't know if there is some backstory to it all. Shane (Mr Progressive) joins a little more than 2 hours into it and it doesn'ttake long for Mecha to get the first time out.
