Two people who spend such an unhealthy amount of time online hanging out, drinking beer with their huggie blankies sounds like the exact opposite of a good time. Why? do you want to come over for a civil discussion and a beer? If that's the case come on over just don't be weird about it.
There is no saving the industry even if Marvel and DC heel turned and went screaming back to Golden age comics ideology. Using the intellectual property for movie rights is the only money it will seriously make in the future. Much like EVS's toy review stuff, he doesn't take into account that toy stores in general are closing because kids today would rather have a bing bing wahoo machine than a hunk of plastic. The main buyers of comics are aging men in their early 40's or older. Many of them are fat, a lot diabetic. The purchasing base of comic books is dying and comics can't do much to rope in a new audience with its current tool kit.I think Ya Boi passed that point a few months ago and now is content to document the industry as it burns down. As a CG supporter I’m enjoying the schadenfreude![]()

Electronic entertainment with interactivity is what everybody is interested in. The major companies should be developing video games for characters like the Xmen, Superman, etc. rather than worrying about the comics book industry themselves. Superman could use a better game than what he got in Superman 64 and I honestly can't even recall an X Men game. People seem to like the spiderman games and the Arkam series. Do stuff like that for more comic books heroes.
Comicsgate is a last hurrah from where I'm standing. It will draw an audience if the comics are good, but I don't see the audience expanding to people who have no interest in comics whatsoever.
Manga seems like a different beast to me. You have mostly young characters with highschool like romances. Its a starch contrast from ageless godlike creatures fighting super villains. The small romantic arc in comic books aren't enough to garner people's attention solely for that. I'd like to see some more data on manga before i make judgement calls on the growth of the viewerbase. I'm going to guess that anime is an entry point for a lot of people and manga is the end result when you get tired of waiting for the next season to be animated or dubbed. The Manga Industry seems to be doing well though.
But I agree the Industry has more problems then the SJW stuff.
I think Ya Boi passed that point a few months ago and now is content to document the industry as it burns down. As a CG supporter I’m enjoying the schadenfreudeYou aren't saving the industry EVS.
this is the gayest video I’ve ever seen and reminds me why as much as I like CG principles I could never go whole hog into this nerdy idiocy.https://youtube.com/watch?v=06MLz5SQD1g
A little CG video to cap the day off with a bit of laughing and cringing.
I agree with CG in the sense that creatives shouldn't be dicks to their consumer base and that good story telling should come before political/ideological soap boxing/sperging.I think Ya Boi passed that point a few months ago and now is content to document the industry as it burns down. But while I’m here...
Besides the fact that Ya Boi is a Veteran with a confirmed sense of humor, does it seem to anyone he is a reasonable Chad when compared to that doughy, soy-based, lunatic Ginger Waid?
I’m partying when that lawsuit gets decided in Ya Boy’s favor![]()
...I'm pretty sure YellowFlash is Black though.So... I have this professor at school who studies comic book history (I know, gay), and he said he's writing a book about Comicsgate (gay), and he described it to the class as being an outgrowth of Gamergate, which was a movement founded by angry White boys who were pissed about diversity in games.
I suspect that nothing the man will be writing about the subject will have any value.
Nah, YF is white, but we're talking about a bunch of weirdos who purposely ignore female and minority members to push their narrative anyway just so they can shit on white guys....I'm pretty sure YellowFlash is Black though.
I also remember seeing quite a few Black and girl gamergaters on Twitter back in the day.
Why does everyone assume "White boys" are the only ones who hate forced "diversity"?
Yep, just don't be freaked out when LNC says "come on in, door's unlocked!" and you peep him sitting in the lazy boy, pants around his ankles, jerking it to an entire wall plastered with low res Elizabeth Breitweiser still pics. Why? do you want to come over for a civil discussion and a beer? If that's the case come on over just don't be weird about it.
The problem is that the former won't change without a little bit of the latter. It's been a few years since people started asking "hey, maybe you folks should be a little nicer to your customers" only to be met by "fuck you, incel!" from the pros themselves.I agree with CG in the sense that creatives shouldn't be dicks to their consumer base and that good story telling should come before political/ideological soap boxing/sperging.
I don't agree with the Twitter/Youtube war to "own the Libs" though and think EVS is every bit as spergy as Gail Simone when he does it.
As someone in academia I can guarantee that your last statement is true. If he manages to publish he’ll have 10 colleague say they read it and how “important” it is. Pathetic.So... Superman is a prominent character in Injustice 1 & 2, and X-Men Legends was a gauntlet styled 4-player co-op that pivoted into the Ultimate Alliance series, with the third game on Switch this month. X-Men characters also featured prominently in the Marvel Heroes MMO, 2014-2018.Electronic entertainment with interactivity is what everybody is interested in. Please peruse his social media, and if you find him bragging about said book, please provide his accounts so we can watch the inevitable sperging from interaction with people outside his perspective.So... This spirals out of control faster than Brianna Wu did with David Pakman.
Also, there is a war because the industry weirdos and their cultists are actively trying to deplatform and take away the only venue for producing comics outside of the industry. It may be spergy at times, like the current WC stuff, but overall the "war" is trying to prevent this and expose dummies like Lauren and our own LNC. Someone so enraptured with EVS that he actually creates bizarre rape fantasies involving Ethan and Beattie B.
Paging Dr. Freud.
How much change it all leads to, who knows? But it sure beats being called an incel by someone who eats catfood and ramen.
I got that from:I don't know where you got that from. My whole point was that comic book writers are paid very well.
A 20 page script will make you $1,000, and if you write one a week you're making $52k/year. That's the median income for the average American. Granted, few writers get to write 52 books a year.
If few people working a given job can attain the status of earning median pay, then it's not lucrative. Unless you want to tell me being a bricklayer also is. I can't fathom how you manage to say it's a well paid gig when full time professionals in their 30s live in crummy apartments and have roommates.

They got a raise. They didn't get residuals. There may be another. Some of the marginal VAs weren't very pleased because places went to non-union workers. It wasn't a huge success but it wasn't an unmitigated disaster either.
If wokeshit went on strike, they'd get absolutely nothing except a pink slip.
I'd say they're paid very well for what they do. That guy who is a regular who, because he constantly produces, gets some semi-livable wage out of it can turn it into a good wage if he also works the convention tour, gives autographs, gets speaking engagements, and otherwise milks what isn't a great wage into a lot of side income.
Throw in the occasional thing like something getting optioned for Hollywood, even if it's never made, and it's actually pretty good. Someone like Mark Waid is pretty comfortable if they don't do some stupid shit like become a malicious tortfeasor and get sued out of house and home.
Speaking of convention circuit...
I'm reminded of Mags constantly going to conventions and nobody ever giving a shit. Aren't those all-expenses paid by the publishers? Technically it's work, but if the pros weren't spiteful anti-social NPC's they'd be able to have fun with fans as if they were mini-vacations several times a year.

Almost all books have dropped below the threshold for earning residuals.
