Hmmm.

Crude.

But STILL better than Narwhal. 😂

I think you and Edwin are missing the Orange Elephant in the room, unless you are arguing that Lim is better because fewer people (far fewer) are willing to pay more and wait longer for his books.
Well I’ll say this, I’m less likely to buy another book from Meyer because I’m still waiting on my fucking copy of Expendables. Tim and Mark get their books out in a timely manner so I’m more likely to buy from them again.
It's okay, I openly confess I really like KA, and get a bit giddy when it triggers some people in CG. FROG included. I can't help myself.
I’m thinking about getting the Omnibus, I usually just buy BlackHops. But I liked the crossover.

Hey @FROG how is Rainbow Brute coming along? I haven’t seen any updates on it lately.

These guys beg for my attention, get three words out of me, and are absolutely devastated by it. lmao

I'll consider any of my haters successful when they stop caring what I think.

Oh Boomer Boyette, never change.

Godlike by faggot Malin is currently at $207,612 off of 2,155.

Twice as much money and more backers. Continue to seethe.
The name of the game is MONEY. Not backers.

This is crowdfunding, not sales. It's purpose is to raise as much money as possible, not to fulfill as many packages as you can.

Ideally, you'd rather have $200,000 to spend making product and only have to ship to 2000 people than have $100,000 and still have to ship to 2000 people.
That's not to say they aren't performing well. After four years of developing a fanbase in crowdfunding, they're able to outsell Aaron Lopresti's first ComicsGate project by nearly $10K. Really good. Keep it up!

I disagree, If you want crowdfund books to be your career you have to factor in repeat sales or repeat backing. You want people to come back again and encourage others to back your books. For some the price vs quality of the book they get is a key component in that decision to back again. Is doesn’t matter if I make $500,000 on the first book, but can’t raise $5,000 on the second because I was late, the book was low quality or I didn’t deliver at all. I’ll never back a book from Elliot Fernandez again, he won’t even answer questions about his book anymore.

Also I look forward to Rainbow the Brute. It looks like a fun book.

yeah but neither Malin or Shane are late on their books so the argument does apply. Kamen Rider might have a similar amount of backers to Godlike but it’s gonna cost Tim more money to ship those books and he has half the money,

These are two different issues.

We're not talking about the merits of being late. There are no merits of being late. It sucks. You're right, it could lead to consequences, especially if the end product isn't good.

We're talking about whether it's better to make $100,000 from 2000 backers or $200,000 from 2000 backers, and when it comes to crowdfunding, it's better to make more money than have more backers.

Once the product is completed and is paid for, you can sell it forever pretty easily.

It's better to make 300k dollars off 2000 backers.

At least it'll make to homes earlier than all cg books.

I don't think anybody is "devastated" by it, Ethan. I think people are mocking you. And rightly so.

"The book looks gay."

"It looks like it was made by furries by non-binary trans furries."

Aren't you the guy with the book that has the anthropomorphic frog character?

By all means, feel free to throw shade on whomever you want. Just remember, there's witty insults, and then there's flailing like a spaz. If you can't manage the former, silence might be a better option. It's painfully transparent when you say something monumentally dumb, people laugh, and then follow it up with "u mad, bro?".

I'll consider any of my haters successful when they stop caring what I think.
Have you considered the possibility that by asking, they're trolling?

At least it'll make to homes earlier than all cg books.
Not all. Some CG books do indeed ship on time. I think there's a spreadsheet kicking around here somewhere. D&V have this matter as a semi-regular segment on their show.

What perplexes me is that I keep hearing from the the late people on the CG-side about how damn hard these ventures are when it comes to doing things on time, and yet Tim and Mark somehow manage. I think it ought to be indisputable by now that they are more competent on the project scheduling and logistics end than most (but again, not all) denizens of CG. There's apparently a way of doing it right, and yet a lot of CG people aren't.

With cg they think just having a cover for the book will get them funded and rely on the bakers to pay for everything and are not responsible enough to get at least a percentage of the book done. Tim & mark already got the book halfway done if not completed in advanced.

ASSTRO has gotten a reprint and you can buy it from this Etsy store:

No, that's not the gay clique of WC rejects. It's the online marketplace.

Which is also probably gay, but I digress...

Anyways, for those of you that don't know the lore, ASSTRO is the best kept secret in Comicsgate. Just look at those stunning numbers when it had its IGG campaign in 2020!

1632075614080.png

For those who think ASSTRO looks like absolute dogshit, and that I've finally lost my goddamned mind, I just wanna say that I couldn't disagree with you more.

It ain't absolute. Indeed, it's still better than Narwhal's art in 499. You will note the soft pastel colors are much easier on the eyes than the neon eye-sandpaper that is BISEXUAL LIGHTING! By vigorously shilling this, I hope to win an fundraising award from the National Association of Optometrists and Opticians. An organization doggedly committed to our nation's eye health.

For every copy of ASSTRO sold, the NAOO will send three Mexican Pesos to an offshore bank account...

...which will then be laundered into Ribbitcoin...

...which will then be used to fund 1% of Sarah McLaughlin's salary to do a weepy late night infomercial...

....the purpose of which will be to collect money for @FROG's much overdue eye examination.

Won't you PLEASE think of Ethan? He thinks KA looks gay and 499 looks good.

Get your copy while you can, before Stupendous buys them all!

Graveyard Shift 2 was three months late. Graveyard Shift 3 was four months late. Not really that bad by CG standards, but I don't know how this "Malin delivers on time" myth got started.

Asstro looks like it was badly traced from various photos. But you are right, it still looks better than Narwhal’s current art style where the characters from each of his books are pretty much interchangeable cuz they all look alike. Plus they look like badly drawn anime,

Now that I think about it, I do remember asking Jon and Mark Poulton on twitter when my Graveyard Shift 2 Huerta variant cover was coming because I saw people getting their copies and I still had to wait a couple months more for mine. They never got back to me. That lateness and Poulton’s shit writing are what cemented my decision to not get Graveyard Shift 3.

Asyl and SCP both shipped early.

Nah. I've already paid $1,300+ out of pocket (at least) for Creepsters so far.

There is no reason to print in China.
All my books have been printed in the USA, but I understand going with China because it's cheaper. I'm considering trying Print Ninja. The only downside that I know of is the 6-8 week turnaround time. If you pay for expedited shipping it ends up costing roughly the same as printing in the US, depending on how many you're printing.

Short-sighted at best. I don't think you're that naive, either. You just don't want to give your enemies any credit. Lim is building a fan base bigger than most in CG have dreamed of. You build the fan base, then you give them things that 'make more money'. You can't take your personal example which you lucked into by grifting OGCG and Fandom Menace, and try to apply that to everyone out there crowdfunding comics. Tim Lim, like him or not, and personally I do not, is doing it right. He's doing something others should consider when they formulate their business models, because trying to repeat your circumstances and your ability to grift paypigs is NOT a repeatable business model. Best those people can do is ride your coat tails, and drink your wet farts while they're sitting behind you.

Asstro looks like shit, but in a "so bad it's good" way. A truly deranged work by a seemingly deranged person.

The samples I've seen of 499 look like shit, and legitimately caused eye strain and gave me a headache.

Yes, I'm a old man. In fact, my itinerary says I'll be playing shuffleboard with Edwin next week. It's not quite as gay as tennis, but nowhere near as hetro as Kamen America. I suppose I'll have to make do.

You're a bad American, Nasser Rabadi.

You have to go back. 😂

Supply chain delays caused by COVID deserve a pass IMO.
I had no problem excusing that in March of 2020 as everything went to shit. A year later is a different story. Much smaller creators can deliver on time or early. Malin is one of the most successful and there's no excuse for him to not have it figured out by now, even with covid restrictions (most of which have been sorted out at this point). And as @VIkkiVerse said, there's no reason for Malin to be printing in China instead of giving business to American printers. Not that it's any of my concern how Malin handles his shit, but you'd think he wouldn't want to funnel cash to the commies.
