I actually have been a big fan of a comic franchise that's not only featured diversity, but diverse viewpoints as well: Countryballs. Due to good writing, I've regularly laughed at anti-American jokes, seen reasonable arguments in favor of raising taxes and not starting wars, gotten familiar with regions and history I previously never cared about, and even sympathized with Communist countries over the ones I'm supposed to be allies with. I was able to absorb this because I was enjoying myself and seeing multiple viewpoints. The original premise also helped. See, it can be done!

Also, maybe the reason customers aren't impressed with modern female characters is not because they're misogynists who don't like them, but rather, they DO like them and have supported and experienced enough good ones for it not to be novel anymore. If recent female characters impress you JUST because they're in major roles, perhaps YOU'RE the one who doesn't like them. Of course, modern SJW writers would rather purge female characters (as well as instances of so-called "misogynists" liking them) from history because not doing so would be an admission that they aren't as special or innovative as they think. Correction- as they believe.

To be fair random people sending you nudes is pretty weird especially if you're just some small time comic artist. That interview is par for the course for the 90's though. Grab any game magazine from that time and you'll find similar shit. I could swear Ethan actually talked about that situation in particular but fuck if I know which stream that was.

Weird? Maybe. Making a bigger deal about it publicly like showing where on the doll you were touch? Weirder.

Points were made in that video, and it can come off as a dislike of women from a point of view. The mirroring of CF #1 and Lone Star #1 is interesting. But Cyberfrog is a victim of trying to be edgy, which now looks cringy. Old CF has some really bad writing and characters. 90s blame or not. It proves Skinny Ethan did all the work by himself in a month or two. Fat Ethan takes a year. Too much pie. Too much youtube. Too much Rose Tico'ing.

Ethan was raised Mormon, right? That probably had something to do with it. But yeah, old Cyberfrog is not good and Ethan actually agrees with that criticism(the dislike of women angle seems like a bit of a reach though), so I guess we'll see if he improved enough over the years. He built up a lot hype for this book and it's gonna be sink or swim for the frogman

To be completely honest here, I love Carol Danvers. Her Ms. Marvel years that is, sure she was a little hot headed but never out right disrespectful. She was powerful yes, but she had her imperfections( she was Liquor head). Her biggest problem is the writers. Hopefully, she'll get a good writer one day, because honestly I sick and tired of seeing her perverted into a fascist.

Here's some of my autism... I, personally always saw edge as a continuation of sarcasm. Both are about exaggerating and playing up how things actually are. So I always thought, if you're good at one you're good at the other. Looking at Ethan's sense of humour it doesn't surprise me that CF is badly-edgy. He's sarcasm is very basic and ether aren't crazy enough or delivered badly. Zack is right: know your strengths and weaknesses. Ethan should learn and just focus on the craft instead of his rockstar persona.

When it comes to his art he may be a prima donna. As for his persona, its gotten him enough subs that sounds like he pulls in enough to make a living off YT. If people didn't like it, that wouldn't be. He has no reason to change anytime soon.

We are 13 years into the MCU and Marvel can barely keep their books from having an issue # over 12 before it gets cancelled. Disney is already licensing out Spider-Man and Captain Marvel to IDW, how long until they just start selling licenses and shutdown money bleeding Marvel Comics?

He sites Trade sales increasing as part of the sales improving, that’s great, do you know what determines the amount of TPBs a single volume of those trades gets?

Terminologies:
TPB: Trade paperback.
Volumes: Reboot or new publication.

Comic sales (single issues), it’s the difference of why there’s like 8 volumes of a single Captain Marvel TPB and 1 volume with 9 TPBs for Spider Man/Deadpool since 2016.


And (2) that comics have always been political. Hurr durr Captain America punched Hitler, so obviously we should make the Red Skull quote sensible republican policies, make women look like men and replace all the heroes with younger more diverse versions, bigot.

You just know if Disney/Warner ever shut down Marvel/DC that these fucks will blame people not buying shit books for "killing the industry" ignoring that everyone from shop owners to fans warned them for nearly a decade.

I've seen the same shit from video game spergs when a franchise/company tanks for being shitty.

I'm aware. I remember all of this. I remember Sitterson going on tirades about the evil of firearms, his 9/11 remarks, and claiming he made all these changes to "piss off the MAGA crowd". I remember when the guy writing Transformers wouldn't know how to write a character's personality, and he would just settle on some variant of LGBT.

Rumor has it, Hasbro wasn't fond of some of this shit and went in there and cleaned a little house, but I can't confirm.
