If it was just Lune, I would've disagreed, but having Monoco also use feet for his skills, yeah, some baguette is into sniffing feet big time.

I strongly disagree; using the Magus floating run pose angled that way was deliberate to get those in the camera.

There is also an exchange between Verso and Lune where he reassures her Monoco won't go after hers. I don't see how you can get any more blatant outside of shit like Zenless Zone Zero gooner trailers.

You have to care somewhat about what's going on in the game, otherwise it just turns into mindlessly pressing buttons for dopamine. Like, I personally couldn't give less of a shit if Cool Protagonist dies in any of the games I like any more because I've long since aged out of legitimately caring about anyone or anything in fiction, but I still usually require some sort of narrative to make the entire thing cohesive and give me a reason to keep paying attention. Lord Malice stole the Sodomy Lance and is gonna sodomize the kingdom? Great, sounds good, let's go murder him. Don't want any sodomy. Do I actually care if the kingdom gets sodomized? No, because odds are I'll never even finish the game and as soon as I stop playing the kingdom stops experiencing the flow of time, but I like having a story for the same reason you keep score in a neighborhood baseball game. It doesn't matter who wins, but you need a reason to call it "baseball".

The problem with Clair Obscur is that at some point you learn that the cool, interesting plot that kept you going doesn't exist. It'd be like reading a book and then halfway in, it just becomes a completely different book. It completely drains many players of a reason to give a quarter of a shit any more. Not only is the story being tossed aside, we enter the "anything goes" realm of writing where the only thing that matters is what the writers feel like writing. It's the same problem with capeshit. Nothing matters when anything could happen, including undoing things that already happened.
 
You know a game has succeeded when months and months after a game came out, try hards start writing essays about how "Actually that thing you like totally sucks!"

Are there even enough frog created RPGs in a decade to warrant the term FRPG being a thing? This is the first nigger worshipper french RPG anything I've ever heard of in my life.
 
All the director of Clair Obscur does is basically talk about the games that inspired him to create E33 and ask people to try them and see why they are great. He and his team really don’t deserve the fanbase they currently have, a bunch of retards who have to play mental gymnastics with a game genre, to justify why they enjoy playing THIS game but don't really enjoy the sort of JRPGs that inspired it because they "look like they were made for gooners" and a thousand other equally inane reasons - including some of the "media literate" people who immediately go mask off and indulge in "we hate Japan but for properly woke reasons!" spewing. Like, the makers of E33 will recommend a game like The Hundred Line and you'll see some "TWO A-BOMBS WEREN'T ENOUGH" comments somewhere about that.

I honestly understand why people who hate turn based JRPGS enoy E33 and shit on traditional JRPGs. Because I was the same way with both JRPGs and fighting games. I hate traditional fighting games because the second you get hit you're basically just sitting there wondering what you're gonna do on wakeup. I fucking LOVED the Killer Instinct reboot because if you're getting combo'd you're still actually playing the game instead of watching a flowchart of canned animations. E33 felt the same way where it took the boring as fuck part of the genre and made it not boring as fuck.

I personally really enjoy Japanese games and the like, so at the very least, it is nice to see a game made by people who obviously love JRPGs and the like.

Wish I could say the same for parts of the fanbase. I only wish that the game gets more people to try out what inspired it. Of course, they won't, because many of them are anime-styled in terms of artstyle and characters, which are just "cringy weebslop" compared to the "mature, adult, and sophisticated" E33.

Can't one also like anime and this game?

I don't understand how people can't separate the two (game and creator), and feel the need to make it a package deal.
