I'm at the point where a couple characters are level 99 and I'm pretty sure I've seen/done just about all there is, except for the final confrontation with Renoir. I have no idea what choices influence the availability of possible endings, so I'll just play it by ear.
Nothing. It's just a choice at the end. A very obvious choice despite what some posters here think.

The entire ending debate can be summarized to this meme

I picked my ending based on the one that favoured Lune the best.
Didn't care about Maelle, Verso or high brow shit like escapism vs acceptance.

Who knew the bare foot Asian woman wizard would be so popular. Well one man did.

In all fairness, the other options are a teenager, who's being pushed into a daughter or sister relationship with the MC (both of them) and a gypsy who's still pining over her ex-husband.
It's one of those scenarios where Lune is both the best choice and only choice.

This is the best thing I've played in a decade.
I have no investment in any way in the autistic internet culture war of the anglosphere that makes a subsection of sheltered colossospergs choose whether or not to enjoy a thing. The cast could be all asian gays and I'd still praise the story, because it is an original setting that happened to resonate with me on a deeply human level and the believable dialogue (at least in French) was delivered very well by the VAs - along with a kickass soundtrack. I mean listen to this:

(from: "Une vie á t'aimer")
Play this if you enjoy video games. Do not play it if seeing something French is already so far removed from your tiny comfort zone as to deeply unsettle you, as this is very French.

It's one of the best games anyone has made in a while, without question. My only real complaints about the game's quality are nitpicks, and I'm happy to overlook them when the price tag is $50 after tax. The dialogue works just as well in English, although I did wince every time they decided to have characters swear in French. It isn't believable, but that's really my only problem with the dialogue and I'll freely admit it's an autistic one.

In terms of creativity and craft, the whole soundtrack is gold. I've never played a game that had this many interesting and novel instrumental textures in its music. The only parts I'm not a fan of would be some tracks that feel like they had lyrics originally composed in French, but translated and sung in English - tracks like "Linen and Cotton". The end result is some really awkward and unnatural phrasing. It didn't have to be that way, either. They could have changed the lyrics for smoother phrasing without losing the content, but they didn't. I assume it was intentional, and it just doesn't work for me. Again, I'm nitpicking. My personal favorite pleasure listening track is probably "Golgra," mostly because I like starting in 5/4 before we drop into the 4/4 groove. It's a great battle track that brings exactly the right level of energy without going too far.

My sole problem with the ending is:

How much of what Verso does is out of pure selfishness vs. care for Maelle.

My suspicion is it's 80-20 selfishness. I think it would have behooved him a bit to not just go "unpaint me PLEASE" but also to add an "or you'll die" when he loses for good. As is, it is hard to shake the idea that he is a monstrous liar who leads everyone to think he actually cares about them when he doesn't.

So now the endless glazing seems to have died down a little and the dust has settled, how's it looking /v/tards? Is it a BG3 situation (prog elements but good game) or a KCD2 situation (obnoxious nigger ruining immersion)? I might give it a try one of these days but the last overhyped "GOTY" game I tried (Wukong) disappointed me so I'll be going with zero expectations.

Edit: Body type A/B type stuff or minor localization sperging is fine imo, but forced token coloreds can take you out of the game (even if the characters are otherwise good).

Don't be retarded. The game is good.

From your manner of speech, I see that the brain rot has done immeasurable damage or you're brown, hard to tell which is worse.
A lifetime of spamming emojis on your favourite e-celeb stream and participation in cretinous discord servers is made apparent, by being an annoying drive by faggot.

So, here's my advice.
Stop trying to pretend you're smart or better, when you lack the ability to make decisions on your own.
Since, by own admission, the dust has settled, do just that, make your own decisions if the game is suitable for you.
It's your time, money or torrent ratio.
Nigger.

Yea I really don't get it. It's very obvious to distinguish legitimate hype and acclaim versus astroturfed fake media hype. Literally all manners of gamers have stated this game is phenomenal. If you don't want to risk paying full price, just get gamepass for a month and beat it, then you are only $20 in the hole if you end up not liking it or find it too "woke" for your liking.

Watched some videos of it. It looks a bit pretentious. I was going to say faggy.

It looks like the kind of game the "video games are an art form" crowd from the 2000's would have really gotten into.

Is this kind of like steampunk? I hear people saying it's a Western answer to turn based JRPG's.
