I guess he's on the downturn of the Jordie Jordan youtuber lifecycle curve. He got popular, thought he could turn Youtube into a career, failed (like so many before him) to realize that PewDiePie was only successful because he was in the right place at the right time, and now he's run out of ideas but doesn't want to go back to having a real job. So he's just pumping out minimal effort algorithm-friendly slop in order to meet his Patreon commitments.

I'm sure we'll soon see him pivot to livestreaming. And with no script to keep him in check, he will reveal himself as a lolcow.

EXCEPT for the fact that RS has some of the same bugs that got FIXED in FS, the fucked skyboxes, dynamite passing through enemies, fucked enemy AI, the missing voice lines, etc. Definitely feels like a nothingburger video for easy views. I got a chuckle out of him spending $150 on a big box version of Fresh Supply. What a mark.

Ignoring his takes on better worse than FS, I thought he was great about how bullshit the pricing is and seemed legitimately aggravated by it. IMO he should have led with that and then done the break down since I think everything else is easier contextualised after you understand they want $30 USD for a fucking patch and free mods... Which apparently aren't out yet? I didn't understand that part re: Marrow, maybe I misunderstood.

Marrow is getting a second episode soon and Death Wish is getting added down the road. The Death Wish creator is working on reworking some maps and adding in a fourth episode. Refreshed Supply comes with Marrow and the first map of the upcoming episode two. Both of these will be available for free when they're released on ModDB and other mod sites. Death Wish has been around since 2011 and Marrow since 2023, they're just getting an update.

That was some hard dicksucking, as well as the usual excuse "muh publisher made them do it". I don't get what exactly is important in having the Source code, it's a fucking shooter, not some great puzzle on how to program.

Like Civvie said, this should, THEORETICALLY, be the "best" version by virtue of having access to the source code. Up until this point, every iteration of Blood port was built from reverse-engineering an alpha from 1997. It's all just an approximation of how people assume it's supposed to work. It's very much a ship of Theseus situation.

How much of Refreshed Supply is actual source code is one of the questions the devs carefully danced around on Doomworld forums. It's a point of contention of what is source code and what is hacked together in the Kex engine. It's the difference between having a blueprint and having to draft your own in a way that "just works". To be honest, I still prefer the autistic Build engine wizards' reverse-engineered frankenstein ports. Even if they aren't 100% source accurate, they FEEL right and are close enough for the vast majority of people playing Blood almost 3 decades after it released.

But what does that matter when it runs on a hardware 10000x faster than what was originally made for so who knows how the engine would react?

Ah I obviously don't have Refreshed so wasn't clear what he meant with Marrow. The fact that DW and Marrow are both releasing their new/updated editions as usual on ModDB makes this even less interesting.

And like he said, how fucking insane would you have to be to play this on a console? I appreciate the novelty of seeing a game from the mid-90s played on your 69" flatscreen but... why

I thought this guy was a corny YouTuber but now, thanks to this thread, I’m scrutinizing everything that comes out of his mouth, it’s exhausting. I was happier when I thought he sucked in a normal way.
