Bit of a dead horse to beat, but it remains so much more enjoyable when Civvie does a video on a game he seems to mostly like.

Kind of sad I'll have to stop making Jill references for a while but that was fun. I love games with that twangy synth adlib+soundblaster compatibility era sound and I can't really explain why; I thought it was kind of nasty back in the day but now it feels like the gameplay never lives up to the music.

This guy sucks, I don't understand why he blew up. Pseudo-analytical bullshit of level design.
Analytical? He's just a game tuber, the initial appeal was probably covering millennial nostalgia games without spending most of the video talking about buying hardware on ebay like the alternatives at the time.

I never understood the mindset so many gamers turbo autists have who dismiss someone based off a few disagreements. I know plenty who live and die by the "He disagreed with me on this particular games quality, therefore he sucks and fuck you if you listen to him" Good example of this is his Serious Sam video. Yeah, Civvie says some stupid shit here and there (esp if they're political), but there are plenty of other things I can either agree or find of interest of. And you can't deny that he and others gave a bunch of niche or forgotten gems well deserved notoriety like Blood and the original Shadow Warrior.

I've known at least one person IRL that's made sworn enemies out of others over video game opinions. In his adult years, nevertheless. Some people just lose their shit over even the tiniest disagreements.

But he also says based shit in a mouse voice, then just goes "oh you".
That's what bugs me most about lumping him in. Redditors are dumb as fuck, you can play them, and he's making cheddar. I don't know the guy but when there's plausible deniability there just fucking take it.
If someone talking to a hand puppet genuinely also fools you then you're dumb as fuck too and nobody wants to hear your political opinions on game tubers either, and you bring shame to the institution of woke-moaning.

add one to the pointing out civvie and cancer mouse are the same person counter i guess

Civvie since you are reading this, if you have a private Discord server just nuke it now and don't look back. Otherwise it's only a matter of time till you are tied to some moderator doing nasty shit. Also stop going soft on indie titles.
I recall one of his "wardens" was into loli\shota but don't remember which. :sighduck:
Dudes like Sseth definitely read KF, I believe that's actually been confirmed and the man has the soul of a farmer through and through,
Yeah he was there. Probably still is. However, I feel like he's under other name here, now.

I wonder how those people have actual interactions with other human beings on a day to day basis. In any job, from customer support, to factory work, to a sales position you'll have disagreements with people on a whole plethora of subjects. Do people like that just have an endless list of "enemies" then? Seems like a lot of energy and time wasted one could channel into more productive and wholesome ventures.

So, in light of the new civvie vid, I gotta ask you fellas an important question:

Bowie or Iggy mix?

I've only ever heard the Bowie mix of Raw Power. Just got through doing a listen of the key tracks with the iggy mix and I despise it. Takes the power right out of Raw Power and replaces it with a muddy, drug down lethargy. The bowie mix is a strike of pure punk rock lightning, full of energy and treble snarl.

Call me uncultured but I can't tell the difference. I didn't get the reference that Civvie was yelling about, making him look like a Boomer again.

>1973's "Raw Power" by Iggy And The Stooges is considered one of the most influential albums in the punk rock genre. The album was first mixed by David Bowie after a failed mixing attempt by Iggy Pop himself, and the Bowie mixes were the only ones available until Iggy Pop remixed the album in 1997 for CD release.

It's better than the previous one by virtue of not having as much forgettable titles that are treated as more than ripoffs. It would still be interesting Civvie said if the game is actually unique or just pretty pixel art and particle effects.
The only game that looked interesting is the Fear in SPACE because actual AI in video games is treated as harshly as AI in 40k.

What eludes me is that Iggy sounded like a kid and then Lust for Life happened.

The best mixes are the alternates and remasters. For instance, here's a different version of Gimmie Danger released after a remix later that doesn't sound like doo-doo. Overall though? The Iggy mix. It's boxy as hell but it makes the album one hell of a powerful wall. Different strokes, though.

The gimme danger mix is actually really nice. I like how the acoustic track sits lower in the mix and the percussion is a bit louder. Gimme Danger is such a kino song that all of the mixes sound good for that one to me. Search & Destroy really benefits from boosted treble though imo. But yeah diff strokes for sure

I have mixed feelings on Iggy's mix of Raw Power. I get that he was going for, that this is supposed to be a violent hard punk sorry PROTO-PUNK album. And it's true Bowie mix of Raw Power feels weak because Bowie puts Iggy's vocal way over the instrumentals. But Iggy's mix of Search and Destroy comes off flat to me. I detest the victims of the "Loudness War", and Raw Power 1997 is infamously one of the most well known examples.

One of the best (in my view) things that happened because the Music Industry stopped trying to fight Youtube was the rise of just random youtubers making their own mix of songs and uploading it. I didn't even know of this upload until the last 10 minutes and yeah I think this amounts to best of both worlds. It's got Iggy's clear intention in mind but the guitars aren't washed out by fucking static.

I don't have mixed feelings, it sounds like shit. If someone didn't tell me what it was I'd assume it was made by a band of not especially talented amateurs who you can tell are never going to go anywhere in music, like maybe they'll have one of the songs people tend to skip over in the soundtrack to a Tony Hawk Pro Skateboarder game on gamecube.

What, do old men just obsessively look up nothing but bands from their youth because the idea of listening to anything by newer or less socially approved bands is too stimulating to their already elevated cholesterol laden blood pressure that once they can't stand one more playthrough of Purple Haze or Kashmir they have to go find slightly reorganized versions of them? And it isn't even the sort of cool stuff from the beginning half of the 20th century, like delta blues and whatnot. It's the stuff from the couple garbage decades where every young adult was a decadent moron because daddy got shot at by Germans to ensure their kids could be mentally stunted layabouts and now they're all poisoned by nostalgia from a time when their happy trail wasn't littered with grays and they didn't look straight out of a hair club for men brochure.

I am done. I've about had it up to here with this site and these fucking dementia riddled boomers pretending music from the late 60s to the late 80s wasn't 99% tripe. Every music thread, the metal thread, the guitar thread, all neurodegenerative old men trying to relive high school. I am done with it.

I will absolutely start slipping cyanide into you people's metamucil if you geriatics don't stop with this shit Get your hearing aids checked.
