Who exactly are these "violent far right" groups that aren't also leftist socialists?
After the events of the 1970s through 1990s, they're keeping their heads down and form around in-group grass-roots locality based networks. They are not online, nor do they engage in any sort of public activism, much less terrorism. People assume they were wiped out, and truth be told, if it wasn't for the government apparatus and attention suddenly being redirected towards the Global war on terror and Islamism after 2001, they might have been.

That said, in any sort of scenario in which there's a collapse of central power and order, I would expect them to fully reassert their presence and influence in the areas they are present.
Granted, I don't know of any that exist in the corridor from NYC to DC, like in the movie. The ones I know of are out in the rural mountain west. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some in the rural Appalachias.

Army camp at Charlottesville (because of course they had to reference Unite the Right) they just manage to waltz into DC because the Pentagon and all the Generals surrendered and the President only had a few diehard loyalists.
exactly, crazy how they got away with going "its not political"

Also Charlottesville is the worst possible place to camp, its further away from DC than Baltimore or Philly or all of deleware. like you're doing it for the referennce.

They still wouldn't have access to planes for airstrikes; they are too logistic-intensive for that kind of organization. Center Leftists might actually be more schizo than Antifa.

Wait, the movie had rebel factions using jet bombers? Holy shit, that's too retarded to even make a joke about. I haven't actually seen the movie, just read the plot synopsis and wrote it off as stupid, unrealistic and a flattery piece to the kind of shitheads who think a subscription to the New York Times is a status symbol.

But, yeah, upper middle class center leftists are the ones with serious TDS and completely detached from reality. Even some antifa are waking up to the fact they've been used as useful idiots by the establishment left since the late 90s, what with the leash being yanked hard since they started going in heavy on Israel and Palestine.

Shit hits the fan, it'll be everyone, from the left, the right, and politically unaffiliated criminal gangs taking out decades of pent up anger (and hoarded wealth) from the white liberal set who drove the country into a ditch in a fit of hubris.

This movie should have been 15 minutes long, with those journalists being turned into pinatas in the first five minutes, then the chud militias, antifa, Hell's Angels, Latin Kings and Crips negotiating who gets to swing the 2x4 first.

I think the easiest explanation is that Garland is a fucking br*ton and a hack who is far more worried about his garbage message than any sort of good storytelling or factual consistency with reality.

It's obvious people on this thread seem to have put more thought into the setting than Garland did. He was making a movie about "muh brave journalists" and a 2ACW was just the most eye catching way he found to disperse it.
We (as Americans) should have an American director create a Second English Civil War film but the main conflict that the film vaguely alludes to is that the Pajeet Prime Minister (Dev Patel) of the Labour Party refused to step down after his fourth term where he gunned down civilians who rejected his Hindu Shit-Eating Legalization Bill after forcing it through parliament.

Good guys are the Southern Forces who are led by a Paki Prime Minister of the Conservative Party just so he can create an Islamic Caliphate but they're totally the good guys cuz they have an autonomous Troon Containment Zone in the Isle of Wight. In the end, they give PM Patel a good ol' LiveLeak execution just like its 2015.

Other notable factions are the Norf FC Army (led by Ngubu) and the Welsh Alliance.

Also instead of journalists the main protagonists are four IP2 streamers who all die in spectacularly funny ways. Oh and there's absolutely no guns at all in the film, everyone fights in close quarters with knives.

There also needs to be a scene where one of the main IP2 female streamers is afraid she is about to get raped only for Sargon to yell “I wouldn’t even rape you”

Only disagreeing as all of them will negotiating on what kind of blunt instrument would be the most suitable for these "pinatas."

This movie is a wartime hate propaganda and the open warning that they are going to at least attempt a violent rebellion based on the rainbow coalition if Trump somehow gets eletected. Given where we are, I'd prefer to take it seriously, rather than going "well, akshully, this is unrealistic for XYZ reasons..."

It's a horrifyingly lefty-politcal sperging minstrel version of Planet of the Apes and The Purge with its shitty messages of gun violence and racism in a post-Las Vegas shooting/post-George Floyd riot world, making the latter two movies look more like documentaries by comparison.

they have an autonomous Troon Containment Zone in the Isle of Wight.

Not putting the Troon Containment Zone on the Isle of Man is a violation of the Geneva Convention.

I understand it's not technically part of the Commonwealth, but they don't have an army so fuck 'em, enjoy the troons.

Alexander Garland is a mediocre director, one of those directors whose movies are "bad" sure but mostly bland, forgettable and pointless. For all the hue and cry, the film is a timid attempt at pushing buttons to be provocative and controversial but it's a case of something being all flash and no substance. Libs are angry at Garland because his film didn't pander to them hard enough and show the obvious Trump stand-in inflicting graphic violence upon the brown bodies of Persons of Color so they could whip themselves up into a frenzy over how righteous they are. See as one example this whiny review at the Hollywood Reporter: "Critic’s Notebook: The Compellingly Packaged Cowardice of ‘Civil War’"

Administrative Results dropped probably the best mainstream YouTube review of this slop.

The budget for this movie is reported to be $50 million, it opened at #1 with a $25.7 million, and journos are saying it's not flop because it's the biggest debut for a A24 production.

That's only the first week. Wait until when the movie ends its theatrical run and then we'll decide whether or not it's a flop for A24, because unfortunately it's pretty successful
