Lovequest Christmas '04 Video (afterthoughts)

Just a few things in this video that stand out to me the most.
-In the opening lines of the video (especially when he says "Well" at the beginning) Chris sounds a lot like Don Knotts.
-The look on Chris' face when he brings up Wes is priceless.
-When Chris stands up he looks like he's wearing a robe of some sort.

While at the same time getting ever more desperate to land his new heartsweet fuckmommy mommy. Chris is quantum.

Also there's probably difference between comparing Chris' happiness now to his actual happiness then and comparing his happiness now to his retconned director's cut memory of his happiness then.

Chris has never really needed to work hard for anything in his life. What he has has all just come to him. At most he only ever tries to give the universe the right idea of what to provide him: attraction signs, cargo cult voodoo legos etc. As such he is incapable of judging his wants against the effort it would take him to achieve them. Normal people have learned to do this and are capable of deciding when something they want is not worth the cost to them. Chris only knows he doesn't have everything he "deserves" and that's not "fair". He doesn't understand it in this video, and now ten year later he still doesn't.

I think a lot of us are pretty sympathetic. But we should remember that there's a difference between granting sympathy and granting absolution.

I dunno. I think an argument can be made that the trolling might actually have prevented him from getting worse.
If nothing else, the problem is that he can now try blame all his problems/faults on trolling (and he might not be wrong some of the time at least).

As opposed to blaming all his faults and misbehaviors on autism? Also horrible girlfriend stealing boys. Which is what he'd still be doing without the trolls to blame.

You know that is a really good point. He was already blaming everyone but himself for his PVCC troubles at this point in 2004 too (if I remember right).

He has always been completely confused by the PVCC troubles. In the sense that he cannot comprehend how what he did wrong. He felt justified in other feuds like Michael Snyder or vandalizing the Hex-Bawx display. But in those cases he tends to say "Yeah, I can see how that might seem wrong to you, but here is why I did it." With PVCC he is just completely befuzzled as to how anyone of his actions could even be construed as wrong.

That may be part of why it stuck with him. That and I think he feels that was one of his best shots and landing a sweetheart. He was surrounded by girls and he what he was doing with his life didn't require explanation or excuses. That hasn't happened since.

I've always found that funny. His little comic he wrote for Sarah made her seem more like someone who was abusive towards Chris. Naturally Chris interpreted it all through the lens of his special brand of childlike naivity.
 
As others have pointed out, it's staggering how thin he was. It's hard to imagine he was ever that thin. He looks like a totally different person, not just from the way he is now but the way he was in his classic striped shirt era.

One thing that hasn't changed is his naiveté and solipsism. He's just so, 100% sure that he could have gotten the girl if it wasn't for some JERK. Almost as if she didn't have any agency of her own.

Is there any chance of releasing the whole video? Or are you keeping the rest of the video under wraps out of respect to Bob? If that's the case I commend you, even though I'd love to see it.
