If Chris had spent the last decade aggressively searching for employment, improving his social skills, and getting professional treatment for his Autism, instead of playing vidya, screaming into a video camera, being disruptive at local businesses, and looking for a fuck-mommy/sweetheart to stick his dick into, I guarantee that Chris's life would be better than it is today.

Yeah, but Chris is a giant tard. While I always have the option to ignore Chris and chalk his suffering up to "his choices", I'm frequently more generous.

To me, there's a difference between Chris actively ruining his life and accidentally ruining his life.

Even if the latter's still his fault, I'm still sympathetic.

I think they are, actually. I seem to remember one of my nephews had a similar looking ornament that he won from school that year.
 
So if the Director's Cut of the DVD made it out of the fire alive, I assume a lot of other material made it too. Cause I can't believe Chris would just randomly have this on his person / be fast to grab it in a fire situation.

It's the same guy that pledged to tell his future wife about how he lost his virginity to a hooker. May as well throw your frame of reference for what normal/decent person would do out the window.
 
If you look in the background near the beginning, you can see present-day Chris arrive with the Ghost of Christmas Past.

I think (in his mind) Chris is happier now compared to the time this video was taken. He thinks he's learned a lot through his 10 Theoretical or Real relationships and that makes him a wiser person. The truth though, is he changed very little and his life has in fact deteriorated considerably.

It's pretty sad when you think about how far Chris has come. I think the last decade does a good job highlighting Barb's parenting style. She takes little to no interest in his life and what influence she has is largely contributing to his eventual demise. Try to imagine what you would do if you found there was a website serving as an (absurdly detailed) catalog of your son's every misadventure. Imagine what you'd do when you found out what those misadventures were. His parents were aware that he was having a difficult time socializing (to put it mildly) and they were also aware that he had a wholly unhealthy fixation with finding a girlfriend. Bob at least opted to cut down the internet, but Barb did the bare minimum to shut him up so she could go back to her fucking stories. As much as the big CWC is a cartoon villain who always gets what he deserves, his mother is a real-world villain and she'll die having utterly fucked over the only son who will attend her funeral.
