what the fuck, Fujimoto?
Fujimoto’s eyes were bigger than his stomach. Part 1 achieves what few manga have even come close to: ending as a complete, self-contained story. Part 2 hit and it was obvious he fell back into the trap of planning the series as he wrote it and he eventually hit a point where he clearly didn’t like writing it anymore. Fire Punch has the same problem, though not quite to the same degree.

I don't think he was planning as he wrote it, I just think he flat out didn't want to do it anymore. Part 1 is fantastic from beginning to end, Part 2 has a fantastic throughline that could have led to a pretty great Part 3 Jojo Part 7 style (which was clearly what the final chapter was supposed to be).

But he just hated having to write the manga half way through part 2 and just gave up on making it good to instead rush it towards its end.

And we never learned what Kobeni's Devil was! Since she said it was secret, my headcanon is that it's the "Secret Devil" like a Devil that represents Secrets.

I do kind of respect Fujimoto for blowing the whole thing up right as the series was at the absolute height of its popularity with the Reze arc movie n shieeeeet.

Absolute sigma move.

I liked the ending. Denji living with his tard wife and working a normie job so that he can enjoy simple things like goyslop and playing vidya with another person is all he really wanted anyway.
This is closer to a happy ending than I was expecting from Fujimoto tbh.
