Ohohoho I forgot to mention I see people wondering why Nayuta replaced Makima. I also wondered about it, but I sort of think of it as like a little "reward" for Denji even if he doesn't know about it as I feel that defeating Makima was basically his biggest and most important accomplishment in the entire series. So even if the World has been reset the fact that he managed to take down Makima still sticks with her having been replaced by Nayuta.
It's also been mentioned, but after rereading the chapter, I think it's very interesting that Pochita seems to still be a part of Denji's heart in some way.

Also since we never saw Denji's mother I'm going to keep my headcanon that the reason why he has sharp teeth is because his mother was some sort of Devil (Like the Mother Devil.) or something like that, and any excuse about her dying from the same heart disease that he has is irrelevant when we were never shown a single panel of her.

Undeniable that he didn't want to make part 2. Or maybe he did in the beginning and quickly regretted it.
I think Fujimoto wanted part 2, it said the story would continue when part 1 ended, and he and his editor probably had an idea where to take it.

But Fujimoto probably got lost while producing, to have an idea, CSM part 1 took only two years of publication, while part 2 was going for it's 5th, far longer and more elaborate than anything Fujimoto ever did.

I think he got lost, his other works have very simple narratives, even with some of the surreal twists of look back and Good Bye Eri, they tend to have smal casts and be short.

That was not the case with part 2 of CSM, when dealing with a larger cast, tow main characters intead of focusing on just Denji, the build up for the 4 horseman prophecy, and all that, you can see that Fujimoto got lost and no longer has any interest.

He probably wants to do another One-shot like Look back and wanted to be done with CSM.

GANTZ had a better ending. I can't fucking believe it but it really did. At least there was some closure. There's better ways to handle pessimistic or dark endings. There's better ways to write happy endings. Gantz for the record has one of the most controversial manga endings I know of behind attack on titan and the other modern ones.

I would rather see Texhnolyze again than reread this series. There's a lot to unpack with Texhnolyze and a lot of details in the world, room for speculation too even compared to Lain and Chainsawman, there's a lot under the surface layer. The whole world basically being like Plato's Cave Allegory but twisted. It's one of the best original anime that play out like a short manga out there. I wish they mastered it in 1080p instead of a weird 578p or something though.

What about Kishibe? He hasn't been seen in over 200 chapters and we were told he retired
Not even retired, last time he appeared, he said he was going to get busy.
I wouldn't want to see him die either but Kishibe going entirely unused and unmentioned for no discernible reason is worse.

Chainsaw Man is the new Evangelion. In 30 years, AsaGODS will win as she is confirmed best waifu in an anniversary short.
Quite literally the absolute fucking worst thing that has happened to Asa, her personality and her character arc throughout part 2 was Denji so Allah willing he knows to stay away and let her in her better world.

Don't forget Fire Punch had a pooner and was about incest
no on both accounts
she was an extreme autist who wishes she was born a guy because all the action movie stars are men
that is almost word for word from the manga

and the "incest" was even fucking weirder with him making her believe it and her knowing it and still going along with it
both of them had been three separate people by the end
good fucking lord fire punch was an insane ride

Ok I didn't hate the chapter as much as I expected. It was cute. But yeah it could use a few more pages and some build up. Also reset endings will always suck to an extent.

If Fujimoto wanted to to have fuck you ending, he should have stopped at handjob scene with a small text box saying Denji's love quest is complete. FIN. Now that would be legendary. Story completely collapses after that anyway.

I think that Nayuta is there instead of Makima because of how chaotic Chainsaw's power is. Same as headphones still existing after ear demon got eaten. It kind of slapped past events together without rhyme or reason.

I'm not really excited about potential part 3 if it ever comes out but probably would still check out a few first chapters out of curiosity.

I wasted so much time on this dogshit manga. Congrats fujimoto you got me, fuck you. Reze was clearly best girl fyi asatards malding.

I feel like ive been trough this exact scenario before with homestuck, and I feel being comparable with anything homestuck is a bad thing probably. Tired of in-universe retcon asspulls.

The whole timeline we experienced is gone and what we get instead is barely 30 confusing pages of the new happier timeline. Ok.

To be clear, I don't think anyone was expecting a clean cut, every plotline adressed and every character had their arc concluded, that is not how Fujimoto writes.

But you can't just stop the story dead on the tracks right in it's climax, just so next chapter Pochita would hit the reset button and give us a cop out altenate reality. This isn't a stylistic choice so much that is a "fuck it, I give up."
I certainly haven't changed my mind that it was entirely too abrupt. I think Fujimoto knew exactly how he wanted to end the series but had too many ideas for things he wanted to put into Part 2. Consequently, he reached a point where he realized if he continued any further he'd only make the story creep worse and decided it was time to wrap it up, flaws and all. I suspect this because I've been there with projects I keep on adding on to, obsessing over fine details to the point that it slows to a near standstill. At some point I have to accept some less than perfect execution because the alternative is never finishing the thing.

Maybe I'm going easier on Fujimoto because I'm viewing it from that angle but I liked the ending overall and I'll stand by that.

The more I sit with this ending the worse it feels. Tbh I'm fine with throwing out everything that happened in part 2, in terms of telling new readers to skip it, but Yoru and Asa are the real loss. I really can't recommend anyone ever read part 2 despite Yoru and Asa being great. And well, now that their whole dynamic went unresolved, I don't even know if I should call an unfinished character good.

Denji's love quest
So sad I never got to make a Denji version (:_(

Asa still has plenty of moments and development that readers shouldn't miss, whether its early Asa acting silly or seeing her doubtful scarred side versus her grabbing onto Denji to save him when the Falling Devil attacks, directly mirroring how it went when she first attacked.
Her dynamic with Yoru might have lacked a strong, conclusive finisher but I really liked Yoru explaining how different devils are to humans to her.
