>remember when the fire devil said denji would have to make a super important life altering choice and it really shook him?
>remember when Denji told the aging devil that he wont be depressed about the people he lost, because he'll just move on and find more happiness?
>remember when Denji realized that his life is full of women trying to control him and he resolved to finally think for himself?
>remember that really powerful, somber moment when Denji told Asa that things can never go back to the way they were before?
>remember how Denji and Asa bonded over killing their parents and were finally able to truly connect with someone?
>remember how Denji broke through to Yoru by showing that, despite being a human, he can still think in ways a devil can understand?

No you don't, because none of those moments happened anymore. The last chapter shows that Denji is back to having a bunch of women make every decision for him. The only choice he makes himself is to save Asa from falling, but it doesnt matter because she just goes back to being a background NPC and Denji just goes back to being led around by Power, Nayuta, and the government.

Oh, and remember that without chainsawman the Nazis, WW2, AIDs, and the star that breaks children's minds when they look at it all never get erased. What a hope filled ending.

It's spitting in the face of every development up until now, with the moral that it's better to be a NPC living for the moment than take responsibility for anything.

It's not even that happy when you consider how frequent public security guys get killed in the series.

Also almost all the important stuff from part 1 too. Gone is his brotherhood with Aki (god forbid he gets a positive adult/male figure in his life), most of the important bonding with Power (darkness devil, post-aki death, etc), etc etc. None of it happened.
AND he now has to deal with Power without Aki/shared trauma playing a much needed buffer.

Honestly with his luck when he finally scores itll probably be with Fumiko at this rate.

Funnily enough depending on how far back the erasure of Makima goes the happiest ending here is probably for the Angel Devil, who would still be living on his tropical island with his girlfriend without Makima to interfere. Everyone else still gets f'ed over one way or another.

It's clearly not the same as the first time around. He and power are working as equal partners and Nayuta is just the person who cuts his checks. It's an imperfect situation he'll grumble about occasionally but in the end it's pretty close to the ideal found family for him given the nature of the world. As for Asa there's nothing preventing him from bumping into her again. It's nowhere near his original circumstances under Makima where she was overtly manipulating him to a nefarious end.
AND he now has to deal with Power without Aki/shared trauma playing a much needed buffer.
Just from the few pages we got he's clearly much better at handling her this time around. It's almost as if Denji is playing the Aki role and Power is filling the role he used to.

I suspect this because I've been there with projects I keep on adding on to, obsessing over fine details to the point that it slows to a near standstill. At some point I have to accept some less than perfect execution because the alternative is never finishing the thing.
The problem here is that Fujimoto wasn't "obsessing" over fine details. He kept rushing through so many of them and ignored plot points he would raise up.

>peak fiction in the making
Now it gets to join Franxx, AoT and Kaguya on the shitty ending club. Anime writers cannot write a fucking ending.

And endings in general, as Western writers also can't write fucking endings properly either. Looking at you, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Mass Effect 3, The Last of Us 2, the Disney Star Wars Sequel trilogy, John Cena's retirement tour, to name a few.

Poor Denji he only has a boss who sees him as a person and not as a tool, a best friend who casually cured his heart disease, and saved someone from having their life ruined.
More seriously Denji's sitaution is way better. he isn't a simp, he doesn't have an unhealthy relationship with sex, he isn't being groomed, he has more or less normal relationships with the people around him who care about him, and he has a job he's good at. He's leading a content, if a bit boring life, and it's kind of implied at the end he even gets his drive back after meeting Asa when he and Power go to shakedown Aki and Himeno, or whoever their seniors are in the new universe.

The issue is that most of those are optimistic theories that are at best implied, that goes against the actual happenings in the series and just hopes that merely disassociating the Chainsaw Devil from Denji somehow changed his personality to not repeat the same mistakes.

Hey, if you want to assume Denji dies from heart diseases one second after the chapter ends be my guest.

It's probably the weakest work from Fujimoto. I still liked it, but that part 2 feels like Fire Punch but for shonenfags. The end doesn't seems that strange for me, Chainsaw Man always had this kind of mockery of shonen in it.

I just realized, Denji is still a hybrid after the reset. How the fuck is a human supposed to recover after drinking blood? His heart is still pochita's or something.

I'm pretty sure if there were a Part 3, it'd have to do with bringing back the Chainsaw Devil, or whatever equivalent to Pochita. Then the reward would be going back to where Part 2 ended, which is where the apocalypse happens and also sex with Asa which sounds appropriate.

Reading from Chapter 1 and having read Fujimoto's previous works, I hope he never butchers another Big Lebowski again. The ending was just whatever.

>This is a contract
>I'll give you life
>In exchange you're mine till you die
If I recall, the best the blood devil can do is stop you from bleeding to death. Feeding and healing from blood is what differentiate hybrid/devils from humans, you dumb gorilla nigger

It's a contract you dumb gorilla nigger. Besides that he's literally bleeding out on the floor when she saves his life.
