Oh, I guess the "devils hear a chainsaw when they're born" thing never got explained but I always figured that would never be explained and was more of a facet of Chainsawman always fighting in Hell before he met Denji so devils would hear him as they spawned in.
It wasn't all of them, that was Angel talking about the devils in Public Safety specifically. Those were Pochita's fans in their last lives, and it's implied he killed them by mistake.

Punpun would mog Denji fr.

I didn't realise there was only one chapter left. I'd 🌈 myself if I could.

I did read more wikipedia articles though and there's a bunch of other details that fit (he's even linked to a mythical Best Sword Ever which Asa might like) but unless I'm an omega genius and it's gonna be a triple-length conclusion or something I don't see how.

I am glad i followed my instincts that told me the author was an edge lord faggot when i first tried reading the series.

He was always going to either have a mental episode and dissappear or tell his audience to fuck themselves.

Oh, buddy, you've dodged one hell of a bullet.
And what makes this all the more worse is that Fujimoto intends for his series to go unresolved, and that because he watched The Big Lebowski and wanted the copy theme of that movie, being about nothing, not realizing that just because you copy from your favorite movie, it doesn't automatically make your story better.

And of course Fujimoto fans are going to suck his dick while claiming it "genius" when really this makes the whole series a waste of time.

I read Part 1 while it was being serialized and I just caught up to Part 2, it's also pretty good. I did not realize how divisive it was until I began reading opinions online and for that reason I hope the ending makes everyone angry. One day everyone will learn to stop trusting the japanese to make proper conclusions

journey to the west has been a disaster for japanese endings

All we need for a good ending is for Denji to touch some tits that aren't attached to a Psycho Bitch.

Not even the worst quote from that interview.
Not just in Japan—these days the whole world seems to be in an economic slump, and you could say that social structures of domination and exploitation have emerged. That might be something that gets reflected in the story.

But personally, I don’t necessarily think being used by someone else is always such a terrible thing. For example, there are street children in Mongolia who live inside roadside pipes. Every day they dig through garbage to find food, and then they mostly sleep so they don’t waste their strength. As long as they keep living like that, nothing really changes.

But if you ask whether that life is truly a bad thing, I’m not sure I can say that it is. In that sense, Denji’s life with Pochita was somewhat similar. It was certainly hard at times, but I didn’t want to portray it as necessarily an unhappy life.
I'm done defending this guy.

Given how Western endings have also sucked, I don't know who can be trusted to not fuck up an ending.

I could understand the angle of reverting everything because the world got too messed up to recover and I even agree with Pochita on Denji being someone who is happier chasing dreams than actually living them out (for prolonged periods of time) but fuck the "life was comfy too back when you had to sell one of your balls just to stay afloat, literally had to eat toilet paper to satiate yourself and the yakuza you were slaving away for was going to murk you anyway" angle.
Pochita wouldn't even be around this time, at best it'd be a normal pet that Denji could barely even feed.

As much as I like Chainsaw Man I probably won't be showing up for Fujimoto's next manga.

Eight years is a really long time to get invested in something only for it to end with all plot threads unfinished for literally no other reason than "ha ha fuck you, Big Lebowski or something idk."

I question if he even watched the Big Lebowski. All the plot threads were in fact addressed, the joke was that the resolution was highly anticlimactic and the big mystery had a completely mundane explanation that matched how utterly dopy the central character was. Plus the Big Lebowski was a straight up stoner comedy with roughly an hour or two of runtime. This arc went on for years. That's not the sort of thing you should conclude ending that totally blueballs the reader and suddenly becomes about nothing. It's just stupid as all hell and I'm calling it right now (because my predictions are usually wrong and I really want them to be wrong this time), whatever comes out tuesday is going to be worse than AT LEAST TEN YEARS.

Yea there's a reason nhillists make very poor entertainers. It kinda worked in Fire Punch but it does not work here.
