It seems like the new world order will be like an IRL late 90s Japan where Devils no longer exist?

Not bad, I mean the Chainsaw Man world is objectively a shithole bordering on various end-of-the-world scenarios happening constantly and the fact that you can just be easily murdered by a Devil is just considered a fact of life.

And they did kind of imply I think a while ago that the world wasn't always like this; that the world used to be normal like how World War II originally happened before the World War II Devil got eaten by Pochita.

eh, it's not as bad as MHA's crash-and-burn or attack on titan's "at least for ten years"
I'd say this is cope, but it didn't drag it out or try to pull a maybe the Chainsaw Man was the friends we made along the way thing. It just up and ended. Pretty blatantly so.

Maybe it's because we've gotten so many god awful endings lately that a forced early one doesn't seem nearly as bad.
Frankly I’m just confused.
Like, wat?
same
Have we considered that this is just an in between life and death dream Denji is having and the next chapter ends with Yoru reviving him?
if this turns out to have been one epic troll i won't even be mad

I doubt it. That means that somehow, Pochita had to cause every other devil to come into existence while also being there from the start, before whatever he did happened.

The problem is that if everything was reversed back to Chapter 1, but Denji never becomes Chainsaw Man... Wouldn't that mean Makima would just do her thing and win with no opposition? It would be kind of weird for that ending to be like that.

Obviously it will end with Denji going back to square one no matter what. That kind of seems to be the intention that; Denji was actually happier back when he was a bum and could just die "simply" instead of living out a prolonged existence of constant fuck-ups.

But I don't think the world would be the same as it was in chapter 1. Something has to have changed. Otherwise they would just be a Makima victory by default and I just kind of seems like a really boring ending because Makima's vision of the world is boring as fuck.

Well I guess that would please certain people because technically if Denji never became Chainsaw Man then maybe various characters like Power and Aki would still be alive, I guess. Err, well, Aki would just die with dignity, lol.

I know Pochita ate himself but Makima would take into account the new world changes and would re-adjust her plan without Pochita in the equation.

I’ve still enjoyed Chainsaw Man Part 2, but I can say people on both sides of the aisle are overreacting. It’s not the greatest literary masterpiece ever, but it’s not the worst piece of shit either.

I can absolutely see the author wanting this reaction though.
Nah dude that's cope, it's the literary version of running out of continues in a video game and getting a bad end that is disconnected from anything that came before it. Even for a garbage show it's one of the worse endings you can pull, especially since if Denji remembers the non-future it will go against the whole point of Pochita's sacrifice.

Maybe if it had like 3-4 chapter for an epilogue it would have been good in setting up, but the best we can hope for is for Denji to meet Asa again.

Attack on Titan? Sure, that ending is GoT-level bad. I still can't understand how Yams ruined Eren's character in one singular chapter.
MHA? Deku, despite having lost OFA, is still remembered as a legend and is a respected teacher at U.A. High School. (he still has his friends btw) Denji started from the bottom and ended at the bottom.

For now, Part 2's ending is worse than MHA's.

As messy as this is, at least we had part 1.

But we don't, part 1 doesn't exist anymore. The question is what flavour of shitty ending we get:
* World is without demons, Denji meets Asa while doing chores for the Yakuza so he might have a future.
* World is with demons and Denji starts a new game plus so everyone survives this time.

i doubt he'll do either of these
i read fire punch
this man is fucking insane

This is like an AoT fan saying "at least we still have the first 3 seasons" or "the series ended at chapter 90" as if the ending didn't leave massive plot points for future stories.
nah, because AoT was trash the moment Eren turned into a titan
We'll see in two weeks, but this will need to be the most legendary "We're back" moment in manga history to make up for it.
i have the baki kneel meme prepared for the occasion

the issue is less "huh my lore questions are unanswered!" and more like Fujimoto writes from his experience of being a total fucking weirdo with a fixation on women who intentionally mistreat him; it's aparent in a lot of his works he doesn't know what's the solution for weirdos to get a happy ending. Shit just get scalatingly weird and then you die I guess.

Idk if there was a total rework sans pochita specifically Denji would likely just die from non-specific blood coughing disease like his mom as described on the first volume at best case scenario.

Part of me almost thinks he's going to become Shark Kick lmao

Which is precisely why I'm strongly leaning towards this being a troll and Fujimoto not intending to end the series at all. He does these kinds of rugpulls all the time.

That's kind of what I'm wondering. Is Pochita able to erase things without even having a corporeal form? The scene does kind of remind me of right after he was killed and spoke to Pochita but I wouldn't put it past Fujimoto to pull the "it was all just a dream" card. Maybe it ends up as some matrix shit where it is a dream but if he fails to remember Pochita in the dream then he goes away in real life.

Then again maybe Fujimoto is going to subvert our expectations one final time by making it exactly what it looks like and it really is all ogre.

Speaking of AoT a lot of talk I see about the Part 2's incoming final chapter is reminding me of when people said Eren's POV will redeem the shitty final arc and then that ended up being the single shittiest moment in the manga
