The whole of part 2 seems to be about Denji squandering every single opportunity he has at a good life, making all the wrong choices every single time. And because of it, he gets the "bad ending". He fucked up.
Maybe I just need to reread Part 2 but it seems like it's largely things outside of his control that keep screwing him over. I do see the angle of "being chainsaw man is only going to make you suffer" but the alternative is living under the thumb of the yakuza as a helpless debt slave. That will never sit right with me, Denji's decision making was nowhere near bad enough to justify that, neither from a moralistic nor a logical standpoint.

I don't think Pochita can comprehend moving on from Denji "achieving" his dreams. To Pochita the dreams Denji have are fantastical, limitless and exhilarating, its what their contract is centered around entirely. Unfortunately for Pochita, the reality of Denji achieving these dreams is often far more boring and ultimately finite than what Denji, and therefore Pochita, imagined.

Denji is almost certainly happier as he achieves his dreams and moves up in life, but he is being a bit worn down by his own eternal journey of greater happiness that he dreams about. To Pochita, who is incapable of understanding this state of being due to being a devil and his obsession with Denji's dreams, this means he thinks Denji is "less happy" than when he was a debt slave who owned nothing but his dreams.

Despite this being some of the worst shit I've ever read, I guarantee pseuds in 5 years will make 15 hour video essays about how its actually a brilliant work of fiction!

After the "chainsaw man can erase concepts!" shit being pulled right out of Fujimotos big fat fucking ass in part 1 I should've known this was going to be SHIT

Part two has been horrible. Nayuta's death has had no affect on Denji outside of the immediate crash out which is completely contradictory to how he reacted to Aki and Power's deaths. Denji and Asa's sexual assault by Yoru also has no non-immediate impact. Denji has now become some sex crazed maniac, but apparently that's not a massive character shift because he touched boobs once in part one. There's no explanation of what happened to a lot of the fan favorite characters Makima was controlling after she died. Excluding Nayuta, there's no part two side character I care about more than these two.

The only good thing in this entire part was Asa and Yoru, but even then I don't think it outweighs the retroactive damage done to part one or make up for just how bad the rest of part two was. I guess there's one chapter left, but unless it's the size of a volume it's unrecoverable. Even then, the recovery would just make part two okay. I'm probably going to treat part two like I treat The Many Saints of Newark in that I will just ignore every part of it when talking about Chainsaw Man.

Israeli and Palestinian Fumiko will be the new protagonists of Part 3 and it'll be a Buddy Cop detective story with shoujo-ai elements.

People will look at the placement of a ventilation shaft in a manga panel, think they're onto something, and go to twitter to make some 10 post long thread on it where they get 5,000 likes and call Fujimoto the greatest author to ever live. Fujimoto already said that he doesn't like it when people do this to his stories so I'm already ignoring what everyone on twitter is trying to say as damage control because it contradicts the authors beliefs (his stories are meant to be surface level).

I’ve still enjoyed Chainsaw Man Part 2, but I can say people on both sides of the aisle are overreacting. It’s not the greatest literary masterpiece ever, but it’s not the worst piece of shit either.

I can absolutely see the author wanting this reaction though.

Anyone could tell part 2 was going to be dogshit ever since the aquarium arc, but i guess fujimoto trannies needed to cope for 4 years to come to the same conclusion
Nah, dude. Fuck off. It's been a fun ride. Part 1 was a well calculated laid out tale, Part 2 is a different beast. We can judge it after it's done and read back to back as intended.

Fujimoto just before Part 2's release drew and wrote Just Listen to the Song, basically telling the readers "Just shut up and sit back and let me cook". Just let it go.

I am incredibly curious what a non-ChainsawMan world would look like. Things could easily end up being way WAY worse.
In B4 Fujimoto drops Denji-Man in two years with no announcement.

I don't want to believe that the closing message is "you're only going to be happy as a yakuza plaything living in a toolshed eating bread with jam every once in a while as a treat" because frankly the logic makes absolutely no sense.
I just hope Denji will have both testicles back.

I'm hoping Pochita's assumption is shown to be wrong. From the looks of it he's right back to exactly where he was in Chapter 1.
I think the point is that he is wrong. Yoru just said the things humans think are sins are nothing to devils. Why would Pochita be different?

Towards the end it felt like a new plot element or plot twist was being introduced that the only way to process it was to shut my brain off and laugh along.
As if you just listened to a song?

Unfortunately for Pochita, the reality of Denji achieving these dreams is often far more boring and ultimately finite than what Denji, and therefore Pochita, imagined.
You hit the nail on the head. Pochita doesn't understand what it means for a human to achieve his dreams, and neither does Denji. They don't understand happiness either.

Nayuta's death has had no affect on Denji outside of the immediate crash out which is completely contradictory to how he reacted to Aki and Power's deaths.
Yes it did. He turned into Chainsawman specifically because of this.

Denji and Asa's sexual assault by Yoru also has no non-immediate impact.
Yes it did. Read it again.

Denji has now become some sex crazed maniac, but apparently that's not a massive character shift because he touched boobs once in part one.
Nigga. He wanted sex with someone he had attachment with for a long time. Not just in part 1, but the entire series. His ending with Yoru saying he wanted to have sex was just Denji doing....well Denji. That's just kind of what he does. It was double speak, sure. One of the only natural talents Denji had was a bit of a silver tongue.

Yes it did. He turned into Chainsawman specifically because of this.
That's the immediate reaction. When Aki and Power died, Denji was grieving for a long time. That isn't the case with Nayuta
Yes it did. Read it again.
There was a chapter where Denji asked Yoru about her feelings for him. That's the only time they referenced it.
Nigga. He wanted sex with someone he had attachment with for a long time.
I should've been more clear this was about his "hyper sexuality" not the fact that he wants to have sex. It seems like every 3th chapter in part 2 is something about Denji wanting to have sex, and it wasn't anywhere close to that bad in part 1. In part 1 he was more like a normal high schooler went it came to sex rather than this.

(Read the Chapter at Work while having Lunch earlier, but couldn't comment until now.)

Weeeell I wasn't expecting that to happen! There has been a lot of speculation of what sort of Devil Pochita was since there was obviously more to him than just being a Chainsaw Devil (Even Denji said the erasing Devils from existence ability was ridiculous for a Chainsaw.) so maybe now we'll see depending on what's missing from the world. If he was the "Devil" Devil then maybe there won't be anymore Devils? I hope not as I would take that as being the end of the entire series.
What I'm assuming is that everything has just been reset to the beginning of Part 1, but without Pochita. Keeping my fingers crossed for a Part 3 if this is actually the end of part 2. I at the very least want to see Death at full power.
