Have tickets for tonight, can’t wait.
Very rarely do I make the effort to go to a theater, but I need to catch this one after hitting the penjamin in the movie theater restroom dressed as Captain America.
One by me is nice and serves pizza and beer, it’ll be great.
Give me the rundown when you get back

Absolutely amazing. Peak cinema. 10/10 no questions asked.
It was everything I wanted from the adaptation of the Reze arc, and the mix of the mushrooms I took beforehand and being in a totally empty theater made it one of the best movie experiences I’ve ever had. Very apropos considering Fujimoto’s relationship to film, I suppose.
The animation was on point, the music was perfect, and in particular the way in which they composed their shots was astounding. For an animation they really made the effort to make it look like it was filmed what with composition, if that makes sense.
I can’t recommend catching this in theaters enough, I loved it.

I remember really liking this series and being disappointed by niggeryamas season 1 and the art downgrade in part two.
I've heard only good things about this movie so far, should I watch it? Did they finally drop the awful ps2 cgi from s1? Did crappa provide the studio with an adequate budget unlike last time?

Different art style for the movie. I'm sure there's still CGI but it's not noticeable.

I enjoyed the first season, and I think the movie is much better. Wife enjoyed the first season, but didn't like the pacing in the movie (she wanted the first half to be longer, and the last half to be shorter).

Nigga, this is such a footnote in the story that I legitimately forgot it happens. I don't agree either. When a devil dies and comes back, they're completely different. They have no memories and their personalities aren't even often the same. The person they are is DEAD. D-e-a-d. For the purpose of the rest of the story, nobody has ever come back from the dead and when they do, they have not been the same. Their role in the story is either a footnote cameo appearance that might as well be blink and you miss it, or they're so radically different they might as well be two different people. There hasn't been an exception of this to date. The characters we saw die are never coming back in their original forms. With maybe ONE exception that Fujimoto has teased, but to this day has not expanded on yet

That is true for devils and fiends. It is not true for hybrids. We have seen denji survive a lot of stuff that have killed devils on screen. We have never gotten confirmation a hybrid can actually die.
The biggest reason for reze being alive is that katanaman was also part of makimas suicide squad, but now he is an active part of the current arc. That's pretty much confirms hybrids are still alive imo.

In real life the USSR always relied on using whatever ethnic groups in their borders to pass as another race when they need a spy in a specific area. Very rarely they ever get a chance to have the actual ethnic group to use as a spy unless they get a defector. Like they want a guy to infiltrate West Germany? They get a Volga German to do the job. A spy in Afghanistan? They get a Tajik, etc.

But I suppose due to circumstances in CSMverse, Reze is also likely to be Japanese too.

Maybe they shouldn't have given her such a Slavic name if they wanted her to pass as japanese lol.

Japan pretty much borders Russia and has passed land back and forth a few times in history. It's not rare at all to see Russian people in Japan.

I had seen this film in theaters twice and I am so glad I have, it is just amazing and honestly I think this should be the only Chainsaw Man arc that could work as a movie and stay that way.

It's a pretty faithful adaptation but it really enhances Reze as a character for me much more than I thought I'd like her while Angel also gets a bit of a boost here.

The music and animation (even as someone who enjoyed Season 1's style, the movie's style is more impressive) )were absolutely perfect, and that pool scene has to be one of the greatest scenes in film for the year of our lord 2025, and I never expected this film to just be this great.

I honestly went in expecting this to really be an 8/10 or a bunch of stitched up episodes like the Demon Slayer movies, but it is far beyond what I expected that I offer my glaze to those who worked their asses off for this film.

what kind of slavic name is reze?
the closest thing that is to a name is the latvian town of rezekne, if you consider latvians slavs

I don't have much knowledge into slavic languages. I just know the rez has similar sounds to name such as reznov.
Reze is also definitely not a japanese name

isn't he a canonical jobber who never won anything, who's main relevance is bullying the cuck mc when he was a powerless loser?
because reze would win
He never wins in events that actually matters if that makes sense its why doing Death Battle and power levels discussions for MHA is retarded because the author didn't put much thought into power scaling and its battle shounen that doesn't focus on fights so all you're really have are guesstimates.

imo its not that deep, even Makima's name doesnt actually have any meaning in Japanese ("Makima" has no real etymology from what I know, although IRL Fujimoto named Makima after the Makita Power Tools Company cuz chainsaws) so Reze could just sound like a trendy cool fake name since it is the 90s.

(for reference, this is Kazakh volleyball player Sabina Altynbekova who is often mistaken for being Japanese and the USSR still exists in CSM world where Kazakhstan is still an SSR)

Still I think its a cool headcanon that Reze may not be Japanese but is some Asian USSR ethnic group like Kazakh that could still pass as Japanese anyways, since that would make sense in-universe as someone who spergs over geography IRL lol
the USSR IRL always did try to use their various ethnic groups for their own favor for both ideological ("see comrades, we ain't Russian chauvinists, sometimes we throw a minority a bone every now and then!") and practical reasons.

Yeah it was a name he'd been sitting on from a previous project apparently.

I didn't think twice about it since I met a Japanese lady once with a very similar name so it sounded plausible enough to be Japanese to me.

Central Asian people looking East Asian makes a lot of sense when you realize they're basically Mongols (who themselves are the forgotten 4th member of the East Asian club that includes Japan, both Koreas and both Chinas) with some slight cultural and linguistic differences.

So let me get this straight....Best chapter in awhile, btw.

The Death Devil is no more, but Gavin Newsom made a contract with Yoru to make the citizens of California into her human shields. However, no one can die and Chainsawman and Yoru are both immortal and can fight to their heart's content. If the Californians are still Yoru's shields....Oh boy. Guys I think Fujimoto hates California.

Understandable. I hate it here too.
