i thought reze was just a japanese girl the russians brainwashed
In real life the USSR always relied on using whatever ethnic groups in their borders to pass as another race when they need a spy in a specific area. Very rarely they ever get a chance to have the actual ethnic group to use as a spy unless they get a defector. Like they want a guy to infiltrate West Germany? They get a Volga German to do the job. A spy in Afghanistan? They get a Tajik, etc.

But I suppose due to circumstances in CSMverse, Reze is also likely to be Japanese too.

The only review source I trust is Commonsense Media.

Finally, Denji can enter Agartha.

Good to know! The Big Smoke Lobby ain't winning this bitch!
Common sense media is hilarious. It used to try to appeal to Christian Boomers back in the 2000s-early 2010s, and switched to trying to appeal to woke millennials sometime in the late 2010s. I always followed them because I got a kick out of how they'd handwring about generic reality shows or mainstream movies. They claimed back around the late 2000s that only people 16+ should watch WWE wrestling due to scantily clad women occasionally appearing, and even then they should be warned about the content and maybe not watch it.

They actually are useful though, if they have a 4 or 5 rating on diversity, stay away from that show.

Watched the camrip. I forgot why Beamu was considered the best boy in Chainsaw Man for years. He reminded me, that glorious Chainsaw-loving bastard. Some parts of the Reze arc I forgot. Ending is still tragic and one of the many reasons why being Denji is suffering.

Here is the one for Look Back from last year.

For any film made in Japan or East Asia, they really, really, REALLY try to reach, lmao.

How long till Chainsaw Man eats the Devil Devil and erases the concept of Devils?

I watched the movie with my normie gf. She doesn't watch anime and didn't watch season 1. I gave her a qrd on the series before watching and she actually enjoyed the movie.
She liked Reze a lot and was sad that she died at the end. She called Denji pussywhipped. She hated Makima. She loved Beam, and found Power cool even thought she was in the movie only for 5 minutes. She didn't watch any trailer, so she was actually surprised by the twist. She cheered when Reze killed that psycho on the roof.

As for me, I found the movie quite good. The beginning felt a bit too slow, they tried making it artistic, but some scenes dragged on a bit too long. However, when the action began it went fucking insane and only stopped at the end. I didn't remember how the fights went, so I had a blast at the second half.
Some of the action scenes end up falling for the modern meme of making it complete unreadable adhd nonsense, but luckily the majority of scenes weren't like that and were actually quite easy to follow.
I found Reze's "fake" voice a bit too obnoxious, but her real voice was great and fit the character perfectly. I get why they they decided to have her be like that, and I think it worked out in the end.

Overall the movie is great and I'd give it a 9/10.

With Look Back last year, this movie now, the new chapters being banger after banger, and with "Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26" coming out in a couple of days, it feels good being a Fujimoto fan.

I just had the funny thought that, if you didn't know the franchise, you could think the film was a generic Shonen film:
* Cast doesn't get any introduction.
* New girl appears to have a romance with the hero.
* Said girl is important/villain.
* Hero learns an ability near the end he'll never use again.
* Girl dies/goes away in the end to never be mentioned again besides maybe a cameo.
* Things are back to status quo.

If anything it fits a bit too well into a mold even if you do know what comes before and after.

denji wanting to run away with her isn't very shounen though

isn't he a canonical jobber who never won anything, who's main relevance is bullying the cuck mc when he was a powerless loser?
because reze would win

Apparently he got killed but then was revived and killed the main bad guy by blowing him up when he turned into a baby or something.

He got fucked up by the main villain, then some ninja guy turned into string to stitch his heart back together or some shit and he did basically fuck all for the rest of the last battle while they spent multiple chapters going over his ninja surgery

Have tickets for tonight, can’t wait.
Very rarely do I make the effort to go to a theater, but I need to catch this one after hitting the penjamin in the movie theater restroom dressed as Captain America.
One by me is nice and serves pizza and beer, it’ll be great.

He's decently strong and would probably be top of their class (since "pull literally anything you can think of out of your ass" girl has a shit imagination) but he's the stereotypical number two Vegeta guy with the bad luck to be stuck next to the Strongest Guy.
Hypothetically he might have won something if the writing in MHA didn't suck ass so the story forgot about him for a third of it until it was time for him to come back and heroically not really do much while crying about sucking.

But it's one of those scenarios where the superhero whose only power is shooting energy bullets out of his eyes is only impressive because they live in a universe where nobody remembers guns exist. Dude just has flammable sweat.
Reze would fucking crush him.
