Spears are really kino for early game, i usually have to force myself to use something else because of how good they are, i slept on slingshots/sling staff myself until this recent run were i wanted to try something new and they are so fucking good, they deal a lot of damage even to armored zombies and since rocks never break you can just keep reusing them as long as you remember to grab them. For early game combat, I remove my storage pack and lure in a few (2-4) zombies to an open field. Then, I kite zombies with a wooden spear (Reach allows you to hit 2 tiles away with "F") and running stance. Zombies can only really grab you, so I get off scot-free most engagements.
This carries me until I get leather/chitin armor, where I switch to bashing (ironshod quarterstaff/baseball bat) or slashing (short-sword) damage.
Couldn't find a firetruck but I've managed to kill a fireman zombie and salvage his clothes. Somehow I couldn't deconstruct and of them, though. Do I need some specific tool to be able to do that? Or just a tool with a very high Sewing level? For fireman gear, I think your best bet is to search streets for a firetruck. They usually contain a lot of goodies which can also be salvaged for nomex to make fire-resistant survivor armor if you have the skill.
I always use stats through skills or stats through kills for this reason, is just makes so much more sense for me that stats grow as you play and do things, otherwise you either chug mutagen or install cybernetics. Is there a way to permanently increase your stats in BN? Can't you work out somehow or run around in circles to increase your Strength and Dexterity respectivelly, for example? I understand traits are supposed to be permanent and define your entire playthrough, but for stats it'd make sense to be able to increase them in one way or another.

For clothing, you usually use the "cut up" option available through the butchering menu (B). It's a lot faster than deconstruction. For this task, you want a tool with the "fine cutting" property, such as an X-Acto knife or a scalpel. There are a few things that have to be deconstructed, filled MBR vests being the main thing I can think of at the moment.Couldn't find a firetruck but I've managed to kill a fireman zombie and salvage his clothes. Mutations unless you use one of the generation options. Is there a way to permanently increase your stats in BN?
Seems okay, though take with a grain of salt from me as I don't have much experience with vanilla or Bright Nights. It seems more geared toward harsher survival mechanics, mainly through a dearth of loot, stronger enemies showing up earlier, and jiggering with a few mechanics here and there. One of the most recent (as of posting) updates has disabled Fungaloids, as Wurm is trying to make them stand out more from the zombies instead of being yet another massive horde of assholes that want to kill you without prompting. Is The Last Generation good? BN seems too easy and DDA is well, DDA so I am considering trying out TLG
If you're talking about dissoluted devourers I was able to kill one using the same strategy I've been using for everything else. Full riot gear (with helmet and shield) + halligan bar with bashing weapons 3 + lure them onto a bush has killed everything I've come up against so far, including some big worm thing I can't remember the name of.Also these devourer amalgamations are fucking unkillable, it took 2 grenades to bag that fucker. Are there any efficient strategies or weapons to despose of these monsters?
Be really fucking good with a melee weapon and have a good melee weapon like an Axe, Halberd or something like that. If you get your grubby little hands on a martial arts manual you can just pulverize them as almost all martial arts come with free riposte so their attacks end up hurting them. Also these devourer amalgamations are fucking unkillable, it took 2 grenades to bag that fucker. Graboids? God those fuckers are so incredibly dangerous and annoying, trying to pit them and Zs probably cost me more HP than I would've lost fighting the Zs myself.including some big worm thing I can't remember the name of.

Anyway, is there a hotkey for the quick corpse pulping? I just REALLY dislike the idea of having to open butchering menu for every single corpse I silently kill but I wanna up the ante and play w/o the mod that disables resurrections.
Really? Via S?You can just smash them.
Yup.Really? Via S?
Disoluted devourer's health is determined with how many (un-pulped) corpses there were during their generation (when they rise up), i have killed them melee with axes and a full armor set of survivor gear, otherwise i recommend fleeing from them, they are slow so is not a biggie, they are one of the reasons i dont do the "set a building on fire and wait for the zombies to path there" much anymore since if i forget (and i will) later i will find one of those fuckers cockblocking me with 6 gorgillion health. It's over, I went out in the blaze of glory... my longest run so far.

Lesson learned: NEVER try to drive deeper into a big city, you'll never outmaneuver hordes of Zs in such narrow streets that are also littered with cars and other roadblocks. At least if you're driving a regular car and not some stereotypical post-apocalyptic ultra-powerful vehicle of death.
