For early game combat, I remove my storage pack and lure in a few (2-4) zombies to an open field. Then, I kite zombies with a wooden spear (Reach allows you to hit 2 tiles away with "F") and running stance. Zombies can only really grab you, so I get off scot-free most engagements.

This carries me until I get leather/chitin armor, where I switch to bashing (ironshod quarterstaff/baseball bat) or slashing (short-sword) damage.
Spears are really kino for early game, i usually have to force myself to use something else because of how good they are, i slept on slingshots/sling staff myself until this recent run were i wanted to try something new and they are so fucking good, they deal a lot of damage even to armored zombies and since rocks never break you can just keep reusing them as long as you remember to grab them.

You can make yourself a rockpouch to keep them and start every encounter by shooting rocks and then finishing them off with whatever weapon you got, since im in no hope getting reliable ammo for my guns is hard so i just save them for lab runs and for everything else i just chuck rocks at them, i will try to make a bow later and see if it competes with the humble rock.

Also, once you reach level 10 throwing and your character is strong enough you just can turn anything into a very damaging projectile with your own hands, in zones that i dont have any range weapon i just break a locker and use the lumps/chunks of steel as throwing weapons and it messes them up real good, is really fucking silly.

Is there a way to permanently increase your stats in BN? Can't you work out somehow or run around in circles to increase your Strength and Dexterity respectivelly, for example? I understand traits are supposed to be permanent and define your entire playthrough, but for stats it'd make sense to be able to increase them in one way or another.
For fireman gear, I think your best bet is to search streets for a firetruck. They usually contain a lot of goodies which can also be salvaged for nomex to make fire-resistant survivor armor if you have the skill.
Couldn't find a firetruck but I've managed to kill a fireman zombie and salvage his clothes. Somehow I couldn't deconstruct and of them, though. Do I need some specific tool to be able to do that? Or just a tool with a very high Sewing level?

I always use stats through skills or stats through kills for this reason, is just makes so much more sense for me that stats grow as you play and do things, otherwise you either chug mutagen or install cybernetics.

For clothing, you usually use the "cut up" option available through the butchering menu (B). It's a lot faster than deconstruction. For this task, you want a tool with the "fine cutting" property, such as an X-Acto knife or a scalpel. There are a few things that have to be deconstructed, filled MBR vests being the main thing I can think of at the moment.

For salvaging fabrics from zombies, you can use \ to hoover up all the corpses and junk into a huge pile, then use the "cut up everything" option to salvage any clothing, then pick out what you want. If you don't have filthy clothing disabled, you still need to wash the stuff, and the best way to do that is with a washing machine in a vehicle. I like to find an RV, then patch it up enough to park in front of my base and use it as a laundromat.

Is The Last Generation good? BN seems too easy and DDA is well, DDA so I am considering trying out TLG
Seems okay, though take with a grain of salt from me as I don't have much experience with vanilla or Bright Nights. It seems more geared toward harsher survival mechanics, mainly through a dearth of loot, stronger enemies showing up earlier, and jiggering with a few mechanics here and there. One of the most recent (as of posting) updates has disabled Fungaloids, as Wurm is trying to make them stand out more from the zombies instead of being yet another massive horde of assholes that want to kill you without prompting.

OH MY GOD NONOONOONNO I CRASHED INTO A FUCKING LIGHT POLE RIGHT AT THE VERY EXIT OUT OF THE CITY

Lesson learned: NEVER try to drive deeper into a big city, you'll never outmaneuver hordes of Zs in such narrow streets that are also littered with cars and other roadblocks. At least if you're driving a regular car and not some stereotypical post-apocalyptic ultra-powerful vehicle of death.
Also these devourer amalgamations are fucking unkillable, it took 2 grenades to bag that fucker. Are there any efficient strategies or weapons to despose of these monsters?

Devourers are definitely “full clip bullshit” foes. In general, I try to stay out of cities during the day: too easy to be seen by too many foes. I tend to park outside the city limits and do my business on foot: a lot quieter that way. You can mount a bike rack on your vehicle and store a shopping cart on that. Instead of carrying big duffel bags throw your loot in the cart. If you get in trouble, leave the cart behind.

If I must drive in a city, I like to scout out the path beforehand at night. Also, think about making noise strategically: honk the horn of a car (and RUN AWAY!) a street or so away from the place you actually want to explore.

If you're talking about dissoluted devourers I was able to kill one using the same strategy I've been using for everything else. Full riot gear (with helmet and shield) + halligan bar with bashing weapons 3 + lure them onto a bush has killed everything I've come up against so far, including some big worm thing I can't remember the name of.

Be really fucking good with a melee weapon and have a good melee weapon like an Axe, Halberd or something like that. If you get your grubby little hands on a martial arts manual you can just pulverize them as almost all martial arts come with free riposte so their attacks end up hurting them.
Lacking that the smart move is to set them on fire or mag dump into them with +P+ smgs or just 5.56. .50 Cals also work well but I would save those for Skeletal Juggernauts.

Graboids? God those fuckers are so incredibly dangerous and annoying, trying to pit them and Zs probably cost me more HP than I would've lost fighting the Zs myself.
Anyway, is there a hotkey for the quick corpse pulping? I just REALLY dislike the idea of having to open butchering menu for every single corpse I silently kill but I wanna up the ante and play w/o the mod that disables resurrections.

You can just smash them.

There is an autopulp/butcher which you can set up to work underneath or adjacent to you. You can set a button to toggle the auto features on or off. Do have it off when you are fighting.

When you get more familiar with the game you can set zone activities to cover a kill box. Change it's location when needed rather than remake them. You can sort the corpses as well as the items. Then burn them, run them over, or whatever.

I'd recommend learning zone activities in general. I think it was the custom filter using * and unsorted near your car and you can clean a house in seconds. Just don't expect it to do smart things when something dangerous is around.

Disoluted devourer's health is determined with how many (un-pulped) corpses there were during their generation (when they rise up), i have killed them melee with axes and a full armor set of survivor gear, otherwise i recommend fleeing from them, they are slow so is not a biggie, they are one of the reasons i dont do the "set a building on fire and wait for the zombies to path there" much anymore since if i forget (and i will) later i will find one of those fuckers cockblocking me with 6 gorgillion health.

seeing play by play of someones character dying is why I occasionally revisit this thread.

Also I use silat, because it makes every single knife fucking stupidly powerful, if you find a kitchen knife, you can basically clear out small neighborhoods, and finding a combat knife means you are basically a god (until you encounter something else besides regular zed)
