Muted colors and stuff are inoffensive and easier on people who don't know what they want or don't care too much. They aren't likely to have strong objections to any muted color. Cars are designed by committee, and they're colored to suit. Not a huge car guy but what the fuck is up with modern car design? Specifically what kind of crack are they smoking in the paint departments?
Like, for example: Every previous era gray or tan cars were matte or dull. Now all of a sudden with the new cars, I see high gloss/almost candy coated paintjobs, when the base coat is fucking GRAY (or like puke green or babyshit blue or fucking doublemint twin beige).
There is no reason to make a gray/beige car, high gloss/candy coat. It looks fucking TERRIBLE. Save that niggerlicious shit for like bright primary colors, and while you're at it, throw some metal flake in for fuck's sake you animals.
Minimalism here (every car is a slab sided blob) and over-styling there (every car has intricate details, wild headlights and grilles and such) to try and differentiate.
Good looking cars, those.
