Not a huge car guy but what the fuck is up with modern car design? Specifically what kind of crack are they smoking in the paint departments?

Like, for example: Every previous era gray or tan cars were matte or dull. Now all of a sudden with the new cars, I see high gloss/almost candy coated paintjobs, when the base coat is fucking GRAY (or like puke green or babyshit blue or fucking doublemint twin beige).

There is no reason to make a gray/beige car, high gloss/candy coat. It looks fucking TERRIBLE. Save that niggerlicious shit for like bright primary colors, and while you're at it, throw some metal flake in for fuck's sake you animals.
Muted colors and stuff are inoffensive and easier on people who don't know what they want or don't care too much. They aren't likely to have strong objections to any muted color. Cars are designed by committee, and they're colored to suit.

Minimalism here (every car is a slab sided blob) and over-styling there (every car has intricate details, wild headlights and grilles and such) to try and differentiate.

Good looking cars, those.

I do miss metal flake in paint. Pearl paint jobs etc. Flat can be kinda neat from time to time but for every example of a neat flat paint job there are 4000 khaki Tacomas. Im on team metal flake. Bring back the blues and the teals while we're at it.

The dumb part is that these days it's easier to find a white car with metal flakes in the paint than it to find flat white. What's the point of metal flakes in white paint, other than as an excuse for auto makers to extract more shekels from their customers?

Pearl white accentuates the car's shape more than regular white and still hides flaws decently. It's a classic paint choice for someone who wants white but with some more dimension and reaction to different lighting conditions.

I like a metal flake or mica paint with some shimmer and flop, but the problem with it is if anything ever happens to the car it will never look right again without a full repaint because good luck finding a paint guy who can match and blend well enough that it looks like it did before.

Thinking seriously about buying one of these babies when i finally get my driver's license:

Ok so, through complex means I have had a car forced upon me for free. I don't want it but at first I figured I might be able to sell it and make some money, few issues.
  • Head gasket failing
  • Leaking oil from 3 different spots
  • I think it is leaking coolant too
  • Transmission is slipping BAD
  • Smells bad
  • 2 minor accidents on record
  • Really poorly designed security system has a fun bug that drains the battery fully if the car isn't driven atleast once a week.
I have the benefit of it atleast being max trim and under 100k miles. At first my plan was to drive it the 2 hours to the car dealership that tried to scam me last year and sell it to them. Because if they pay more than $5 for this piece of shit I win because they will never fucking sell this thing. But honestly I don't think it will make the drive there at this point. Someone recommended CarMax to me? Are they really retarded enough to pay me money for this thing? I atleast have it to the point where it sometimes doesn't throw up codes.

I don't want to put it up on Craigslist since I think no human being deserves this ticking time bomb pile of shit.

With that piece of shit, you're better off calling a few junkers and seeing what you can get.

Woah, I'm that retard (dumb blonde cunt is more appt) who jet washed his engine bay thinking it won't cause any issues. I think I've caused a grounding fault since right after the jet wash the key fob and passenger window button act up on my Saab 9-3 convertible. Anyhow, guess what I'll spend the up coming weeks fixing after replacing all high pressure power steering lines and hoses.

Well that was a terrible idea, and on you. Even with just a garden hose, (don't do that) if you do (again don't) I suggest wrapping the sensitive stuff.

I'm looking at Vipers again, please help me.

I noticed today that if I lose pressure behind the break pedal if I press it all the way to the floor. The brake pedal makes a loud "click" once I get it nearly to the floor and then there's very very little hydraulic pressure pushing the pedal back up. The pedal continues to make clicking noises until I let fully off of it. My brake pressure came back shortly after and now I hear a "whoosh" or "hiss" when I push down on the brake pedal.

Clutch pedal is fine so I don't think it's a master cylinder. Could it be a brake booster? I replaced the pads, rotors, calipers, and lines a few months ago but this is a recent issue so it feels unrelated.

It could be brake booster, or it could be one of the brake wheel cylinders. I'd check the wheel cylinders first.

I did just get an Elise. If I find one are they comfy to sleep in? Or can I use your couch? Mrs will murder me leaving the Sexus alone and getting ANOTHER toy for myself.

Actually she's really happy with her 6, hoping to do Headers soon instead of working on the Sexus.

Had to run out a bit and was in my firebird, got into it with a base model Porch boxster non S... oof, well now I can say I beat a Porsche on my resume.

what type of firebird, gen 3 or gen 4.
86, base model, 400 Pontiac swap build and 2 stage giggle gas. Too many mods to get into no one cares.

I gotta give the guy props, I legit fucking have a VERY noticeable cage and slicks and he still thought to throw a few revs in his 14 second car .. lol.

In any car I've ever been in the clutch and brake have separate master cylinders, and reservoirs.
Same, also not sure his car but it could be an OG cable trans so only one cyl. Booster is my first guess, but also check for air in lines, bleeding is free.
