Those trans are trash and gm used em to cut costs just like stuffing a 7.5" 10 bolt out back.

Those 6s are stout, dull lazy but stout. Kinda on thirsty side but the torque comes low so it'll hustle. Glad it's working ok so far.

Few companies offer sways for those, id look at at least a big rear just so she doesn't plow those cars are pretty damn numb but that was the goal.

Dude I got car parts I need to install piling up in my living room and not a day off to do it. I'm tempted to just drop it off at this Russian dudes shop and have him do it and pay up. It's getting old.

I have a pretty big stockpile for winter projects. Normally a buy parts as I need them but a lot of supply chains are drying up for older (30+ year) cars

Mines a 27 year old acura integra. It shifts fine, no oil leaks or burning, but needs the exhaust replaced, linkage bushings, interior plastics cracked from the sun, carpet shampooed, windows realigned, tint and residue removed. Just petty time consuming dumb shit.

I have the hotwheels of that Cord (different color) on a shelf in my office. Prewar cars are cool but they're expensive and impractical so I don't own any.

I'm glad you're able to find some joy in these cheap ordinary cars you own. Watch out for the coolant tank splitting in that car, a buddy of mine in college had one of those and the coolant tank popped open and left him stranded so I pulled one from a junkyard and installed it for him then he sold the car.

I've been saving spare parts that I pull at junkyards and otherwise accumulate for a decade now, it's beginning to look like a hoard that you'd see on american pickers on one side of my garage. My newest car is my FD and they're already tough and kind of expensive to find parts for.

Good to know. But yeah. You gotta have some fun with these finds man. Haven't had a car that didn't need some work. And it's just fun testing them out. Sure the horsepower is lower then modern cars, but the engineers knew what they were doing.
 
I hate that stereotype for Ford owners now is that they’re fags. I own a f150 and I’m not a fag lmao. But after seeing this in a car discord, I think I’m gonna leave (I rarely use discord anymore since it’s full of fags and trannies)

The frames are built like paper. One of the first work vehicles I had was a 5 speed S10 and the thing was almost dragging on the ground from all of the tools in the bed and the cap. Brakes needed done every 20k miles. That company uses dodge caravans now with the same tool load out and they get better gas mileage, can still tow about the same, are comfier, and way less maintenance. S10s are such a giant piece of shit if you actually do work and aren't larping
 
Ok, update on "HotRod", my busted 03 Chevy Malibu. Talking with my family, probably a lot of problems are in the PCM with how many blown fuses I've found. What I imagine happen before the punk kid got it impounded:

On the plus side, mechanically it's sound, though the drivers side door leaks a bit in the car wash lol. I'll work on it. Also my stickers arrived, the ride has been pimped. Also been testing speed. It's 0-60 with its budget tires are actually pretty quick with that invincible 3.1 L 6 banger. Honestly the engineering that went into this thing, fucked electrical yet it still rolls, is very impressive to me. Chevrolet back in the day was tough as nails, like damn.

I am having fun working on it tbh. Cheaper than taking it into a shop. I'll tell you this, much simpler than my old Hyundai. I'm not going for a full restoration, but making it fully functional is my aim. I'll get a newer car when I have more cash, but until then, I'll make do with what I got. Fun part is it's kinda thrashed already, so stickers and bolting on shit like hood ornaments I don't give a shit about
