Lol slip in trucks have you ever driven a LS1 car with that dumpster fire hard for a few mins?The 4L60e is the tranny. Yours is the 4L40 or something, a transverse mounted autobox. 4L60 is in a lot of rear wheel drive GM cars and trucks that's known to slip in the trucks since it's underbuilt for those applications. Yeah your pushrod v6 should be solid though I'm not familiar with those v6.
Those trans are trash and gm used em to cut costs just like stuffing a 7.5" 10 bolt out back.
Those 6s are stout, dull lazy but stout. Kinda on thirsty side but the torque comes low so it'll hustle. Glad it's working ok so far.
Few companies offer sways for those, id look at at least a big rear just so she doesn't plow those cars are pretty damn numb but that was the goal.
