The chick says you should go watch Atila because it's actually good and the actress isn't a piece of wood, then all the shills swarm down with "you have internalised muhsogyny", "why are you so sensitive YOU BITCH I'LL KILL YOU FOR DISAGREEING" and "Gotcha this Marvel movie which always makes money is making money despite being mediocre!", "this movie is good because it panders to wamen all other movies are bad because they totally pander to men"(?) and of course lots of gifs. All this, over CAPESHIT.

Most of this is either by men or what seem like literal bots with Danvers avatars saying "go see it because WAMEN" even tho the original tweet is endorsing a movie with a female protagonist which would make them misogynists. Someone said they saw Captain Marvel five times, I honestly feel bad for them. Others are saying "she didn't say anything about white men", even tho there's tweets of her being an asshole to tons of people and it's not about that it's about her not being charismatic and the movie being bad. There's even people that are saying "where were you on Atila's opening weekend HMMMM?" even tho the film made 300 million and got better reviews so it's hardly obscure. There's also tweets about how Atila is owned by Disney, even tho once again, it's missing the point because people just don't like how the film looks and Atila is just better. Someone unironically called Brie talking about "white men disliking A Wrinkle in TIme" as if it's a mic drop even tho that movie flopped harder than an unaroused black man's cock.

It's amazing how people play into the mouse's hand, which let's be honest here is a company run by white dude execs who would drop the diversity shtick if they didn't think it could make money. Pacifying the masses by telling them to watch capeshit instead of actually fixing the problems of the world. We truly live in a society, Twitter was a mistake

EDIT: Also someone said Atila was boring (kek) and Manvel was "dope". First of all, nope. Second of all, who says "dope" unironically in the current year + 3?

Saw it. Average cookie cutter filler Marvel movie with worse action scenes than usual. As a character Carol wasn’t that bad but she was just really boring, Fury was more defined than she was. Maybe they’ll find some actual interesting shit for her to do when Endgame comes out, I don’t know.

Then again even if it makes loads of money eventually people will get sick of these movies if they actually put less and less effort into them.

I'm gonna outright write these movies off after Far From Home at least, seeing as that's the last one with a Stan Lee Cameo I think.

Just jumping ship before it gets ugly.

If it makes money, why wouldn't they? Vote with your dollar, they sure as shit learned from Solo.

And then the rest of it is fair enough. But I don't see it as "contrarian", because that suggests I don't actually believe the people freaking the fuck out, pozz or negatively, are making assholes of themselves, which I do. If people legitimately thought all it was going to take was raising hell in comments sections and user scores to derail a multi-billion dollar juggernaut, and then to get caught off guard when it didn't work, I'm laughing, That's funny shit and I'm laughing.
 
One major example of hypocrisy I'm seeing with the response to this movie ...

When Suicide Squad played "obvious" and "too on-the-nose" songs throughout the movie: "Worst movie ever!"

When Captain Marvel has song choices that are just as obvious as Suicide Squad's: "I love 90's music! Yeah! This soundtrack is bangin'!"
 
Just got back from the movie and it was pretty basic for the most part. Not bad but not good as well.

Brie Larson isn’t as convincing as Denvers unfortunately, but the rest of the cast was great. Action could’ve have more punch though.
