No one was really shitting on Gal Gadot for that movie besides maybe being a little small and I guess a lack of faith in the DCU(with good reason). She didn't go around bashing men or making it some big political feminist movie even though that would be easy as fuck since it's about Amazons and what happens? People liked it and it did well financially. Hell let's go even more recent, Alita: Battle Angel. Doing fine and none of the "usual suspects" are shitting on it because it stars a woman.
There've been several articles theorizing but what it comes down to is this: money. Its just that simple. They need to memory hole everything to show how terrible the present is, otherwise their activism is pointless. This is what happens when you find everything sexist and racist for 50 years, you run out of things that are sexist and racist. Which is why you're getting insane fucking articles like the knitting community is racist because a white woman wants to go to India or that Superman needs to be not white, even though Dean Cain was Superman 25 years ago and was half Jap/half White.
So you have to CONSTANTLY reset that clock. You CONSTANTLY have to say 'THIS IS THE FIRST EVER' even though its clearly not. There've been plenty of female action leads and superhero movies.

I guarantee you Carol Danvers will be a flawless character, boring and uninteresting.
Superman works because he cares so much. He's invulnerable, the people around him aren't. And this HURTS him, it causes him emotional suffering. It makes him doubt himself. That's how you have a character with so much power show weakness. All we get from Danvers is this emotionless scowl. I don't get this real concern for people from the trailers or marketing. So who cares? SHES DA MOST POWERFUL. Who gives a shit if she's boring as fuck? Her comic has been relaunched like ten fucking times because she's C-List at best, has always been C-List and the most notable thing was give Rogue her powers who was far more interesting.
Everything is sexist, racist and homophobic. It has to be. Because otherwise, these grifters would lose money. Most of these people with useless degrees HAVE to make victimhood culture work and convert useful idiots into their cult ideology.
Hollywood has always been full of dumb, re.tarded motherfuckers with no concept of reality, so Larson's behavior isn't surprising. Like Hollywood actors are typically really, really fucking dumb. Like dogshit dumb. So her going around is her just being a typical dumb Hollywood cunt. The erasure issue is 1) To inflate the marketing of a product and 2) To show the present is bad and that these activists are needed in some capacity.
Problem is things have been getting more and more batshit, and people don't have THAT much ADD. You can only play this game for so long and they've been basically doing it for decades. Its just really coming to the forefront because there's very little left and you can sense their desperation at trying anything and everything. This is also why they want people fired and replaced. Because they're functionally unemployable with their degrees and attitude, they need to make vacancies.
For example, there was an executive at EA who was accused of harassment by a woman. He was fired. The day after he was fired, the woman applied for his position. And this isn't uncommon. When they say 'X industry should hire more X because DIVERSITY' they're talking about themselves, except for the beta cucks who think they're going to get laid and are about 95% rapists. So with the exception of white men, who are either sexual predator beta males or millionaires whose opinion doesn't matter, the people pushing for diversity are the people who want those jobs.
Its what it was always about in the first place. Money. Greed. Narcissism and the lack of empathy. But mainly, its that green. Don't be fooled. They don't care about minorities or women. They only care about getting paid and keeping victimhood alive long enough to profit from it.
