I want to believe this is a genuine grassroots, but the cynical side of me says it’s a honey pot.
Even if the organizers are real, it can become a honeypot with a few hateful RCMP and regional police pricks monitoring and using face-scanning tech to get identities of people attending.

They're gonna attack American-owned businesses, like what, McDonalds, Walmart, and Nike? These people are idiots. Are they going to attack Six Flags Montreal? Are they going to destroy Apple stores? I mean seriously, morons. They're gonna hijack Amazon fulfillment centres? Disrupt FedEx courriers?

Canadians don't seem to realise how much American products we use, especially Apple and Amazon.
If you only know how dumb those 'anti-america' canadian twat are.. My mom claim to boycott the USA by buying america brand...

I would prefer if people attacked Canadian Oligarch businesses like Loblaws, Shopify or Bell/Rogers/Telus
Regarding Bell/Rogers/Telus (and Shaw): there exist hubs that if destroyed would knock out telecoms for fast swaths of surrounding lands. Ask your local lineman for a map of them.

That's not true at all. It's a post-national economic zone for the weak.

Yes. For the past 10 years now the concept of a Canadian identity, which was vague to begin with, has completely been obliterated. We're just an economic zone for Third World migrants.

During Harper's administration at least we had clung to the British-Canadian heritage, there was actually an effort to push Anglo-Canadian culture into mainstream media and politics.

Exactly. Most of Canada's national identity boils down to "We're not America!".

Welp the Great Gun Buy Back Program that Trudy launched just before he bailed out is off to a rousing success as one would expect of any Liberal guided program.

The new Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program (ASFCP) got off to a roaring success, after setting goal of getting 250 assault-style firearms off the streets the pilot program collected a whooping 25! And most of those 25 guns came from a single widow who turned in her husbands gun collection for money.

""It was an opportunity to test the program's processes and systems, confirm what works well and identify and address any potential gaps or challenges before the program opens nationwide," said Simon Lafortune, spokesperson for Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangare, in a statement. "We consider this pilot program to be a great success as the lessons learned will be very useful when we move forward with the planned legislation."

Yup, 25 of out 250 guns collected over six weeks is a massive success if your a Liberal government appointee. And I'm not joking. When I first heard of the pilot program I assume they would get a few old, rusty guns at best. Given the large amount of corruption and nepotism in current Canadian government I'm shocked the news got out far enough for at least some gun owners to show up.

Which bring up another problem, people who turned up to hand over their guns were met with only about 1/3 of the promised money. One participant commented to reporters that he turned in around $3000 worth of AR-15's and was given a measly $350 instead of the promised $2500. Bait and switch? In My Liberal Canada? It's more likely then you think.

Here's an actual fire-arms lawyer talking about it. Yes I know he looks like a massive flaming faggot but I can assure you (I know him personally) he's actually a very decent guy and one of the leading voices in Western Canada for opposing anything Ottawa does towards fire-arm owners. The fact he looks like a 1880's street beggar is just his weird ass way of dressing.

This one is even better because it's supposedly not even actual AR-15s handed in but rather separate actions - i.e. they were firearm components, not complete firearms. Guy handed them in because he wanted the cash back to buy something functional he could shoot only to learn just what Liberal generosity means.

The Libs will slow roll this program anyway since they love their wedge issues and will have a hard time explaining how a ~10% compliance rate in Quebec (see the long gun registry stats) translates to overwhelming success. Also it's becoming very funny watching the progs attempt to square the circle of firearm confiscation with their screaming about needing to defend Canada against American invasion.

The Liberals spent about 40 million dollars to get each of those 25 guns, but we don't have money for any other societal needs.

nah the Liberals made around 40 million dollars by getting those guns. Liberal programs only exist to funnel tax payer money into Liberal pockets.

The people hired at massive salaries to run the program got bank, the "advisors" and "contractors" hired by friends and family made bank and the companies involved in shipping the guns to the program site and then to the furnace also made bank.

The program ended up paying out only about 1/3 of what was promised to the gun owners so where the did rest of the money go? No where that's where. Stop asking questions before you hit hate-speech grounds serf.

Canada is incredible corrupt, but because everyone in power is involved in it no one dares to cover it if and even if something somehow leaks out, like say the Airbus scandal or SNC-Lavin events, or any of the thousands of other events all that we get a 5 second blurb on CBC after nothing happens to those who made bank.

In Canada if you want to be rich you don't start a company, you don't create a new product, you don't revolutionize an industry.

You go into Politics.

Why would you turn in ANYTHING though? That's like turning yourself in for speeding.

He was also Robert Pickton's defense lawyer.

God I wish I was American.
