Basically, a variation of delusional stick it up to trump comments with stuff like, "we should partner with SAB and build a factory here! (Sab went out of business years ago)"

Most of the Indigenous people there had voted to remain, and if the referendum did pass in the separatists' favour, there were plans to fight it. I wonder if Indigenous groups in Alberta plan the same? Fun thought experiment.

I think it would be nice if maps of Canada included population density, crown land, and land under Indigenous titles alongside the provincial and territorial borders. I think that maps can be deceiving.

OAS is $713 a month. After 75 it’s $784. If you wait five years to take it, the benefit grows 36%. This year taxes will start to claw the cash back at an income of about $91,000 and it’s all gone by $148,000 (or $154,000 if over 75).

A key point to remember is nobody contributes directly to their OAS. So it’s unlike CPP, funded by employers and workers then managed by an independent agency. The Old Age Security comes right out of government coffers, sourced from tax revenue and (these day) by borrowing. In other words, if there were no OAS there’d be no deficit and a government surplus this year of about $35 billion.

In Alberta, at least in urban cities the Injun people are usually conservative from my experience. It's mainly the chiefs that are liberal, mainly so they can get free handouts.
