Canada is definitely still better than the second and third world. The problem is that we're only considered good if we're compared to the second and third world.
Nahh, we're not.
Lived in Spain, Portugal, Greece, much of the global south- by a lot of metrics were much worse.
Know how much I spent on groceries for a family of 2 this past week? Feta, Iberian presunto, wonderful lasagnas, italian pizzas, etc- 50 euro.
Know how much rent costs here for a 3 bedroom? 550
I'm pretty safe, the jeets aren't around en masse,
I actually have healthcare and can see a doctor, my taxes are much lower, etc.
The only thing Canada really has is a better
local job market, but if you have something remote, its laughable how much better it is in even
the second world. Like I'm not even exaggerating, if you leave Canada for a bit, it feels like Yeltsin entering a US supermarket at the end of the coldwar.
People's groceries are
this low? The rent is
this cheap? 1/4th of your neighbors
aren't Indian?
shits cooked in Canada, and its cooked in curry sauce. The part that does suck for me is I'm still paid in CAD, which is just
dropping in value. Not as bad as say, Turkey or Argentina, but rip I guess.
