Idk why but this hit hard for me. What if the collapse never comes and this corpse of nation just keeps on shambling for the rest of my life.

carnage government
I can appreciate the funny name attempts, but I find it funnier that Carney sounds exactly like what we call those untrustworthy scammers that work at traveling carnivals, teeming with STDs and parasitic skin conditions.

It interesting that at this point I have no idea who's worse Carney or Trudeau?
They're all the worst. Pierre, Justin, Mark, Jagmeet, Elizabeth, they're all the same level of evil. I don't mean evil in the fictional way, I mean evil in the real sense: banal, stupid, self-aggrandizing, selfish. Playing the game of "who's worse?" (i.e., strategic voting) is one of the reasons that voting in Canada is such a gay waste of time.

It's kinda like Russia in that both countries are ultra-centralized in a few cities
People were living in sod houses on the prairies until the 70s. Newfoundland has regions that didn't get power until the early 2000s.
I've often said that Canada is a first-world or developed country only in its urban centres. Spend some time in a rural town and suddenly you step back in time several decades. I guess a lot of countries are like that though.

Realistically America will eventually annex us
Even this, in a way, is a very Canadian idea. It's presumptuous, and it aggrandizes Canada in a way that isn't reflective of reality. Really - why would the USA want to annex Canada? Why would the USA want to take on the burden of 40+ million people, millions of km in territory, and every other concern that comes with annexation? Canada is really nothing special - everything we have, the USA already has or they buy it from us at negligible prices. There's no reason that the USA would ever annex Canada, because they already have everything that they could gain from it anyway. Why buy a cow when you can get milk for free?

Realistically, everything will stay the exact same - the country will continue to decay, and every day will be worse than the last.

That's the fear honestly. It very well could happen which is something I've thought about, but that's why striving for an escape route should be of high priority instead of just waiting for something to happen.

Crosspost from USPG2:
Imagine saying shit like this and thinking you’re better than America. “Look at how tolerant we are!” You’re supposed to say as you pull down your pants and spread your asscheeks for the home invader. “Thank god were not those barbaric Yanks with their *gasp* GUNS and Stand Your Ground laws!”.

So, given how cucked Canada has become, can I safely assume the Canadian war criminal meme is just a meme?

Get an American CDL, move to the Dakotas, and drive trucks for the oil rigs out there. Get out of Canadaland while you still can.

This meme really exemplifies my issues with the "based Canadians" out there. So many of them are like "the conservatives won't deal with the poos" (this being circa 2021) or fuck the conservatives im voting for Trudeau because they won't reduce immigration (circa 2019).
The collapse doesnt come because your country are full of overly compliant human cattle who insist that they're more free than Americans even as things get actively worse than Mississippi for Canadians.
America invading and practicing good old fashioned economic exploitation would be a step up from the current status quo as you aren't fined for offensive speech.

Are the Chinese EVs really that bad? I was actually looking forward to those BYD (?) cars that go for like 9000 USD. Would actually make sense to own one just for daily commuting.
I'd expound more on this but @Thiletonomics basically hit every single high note and a few more I wasn't planning on bringing up. Yes. They are not only that bad, but they're stupidly and transparently aware of just how many games they're playing and give no fucks about playing them just to save their reputation. Based on China Observer's reporting, the Chinese EV sector is looking like the next epicenter of an Evergrande collapse.

If you well and truly need a cheap and well made small car, Japanese imports. The dealer I was going through has kei vans under $7000, and I snaked a turbo-diesel AWD Camry/Vista for a little over $10,000. Factor in about a $1250 charge to ship, and you can get a leagues better car for still under that price-point depending on your limitations and needs.
It's insidious how we as a nation have covered that petulance with a veil of forced positivity. A common response to any criticism, complaint, or even pointing out the nation's flaws is that you are being "too negative" and "talking down Canada" according to the Liberal base or even the NDPers. They respond the same way to any criticism of the healthcare system, immigration, and multiculturalism.
There's a term for this somewhere. I am blanking on it, but I'm 90% sure it's out there. They're so afraid of the collapse they know deep down in incoming that they're aggressively denying it in the hopes it can be staved off that little while longer... It's related to the sunk cost fallacy, but I'm not sure if that's the name of it.
Remember how the Left went ballistic when Poilievre had the audacity to say that Canada was broken? They harped on about how Poilievre "complained" while never offering any policy alternatives when they had in fact deliberately ignored his solutions and cheered when Carney half-heartedly implemented said solutions.
Can confirm the first half as a Yank. If Carney halfheartedly did Polivere's position though, grind that motherfucker to dust for stealing his homework. That was one of the digs that really got at Kamala, since she ripped off and watered down Trump's promises of no tax on tips and the child tax credit.
Don't get me wrong. A positive attitude can be extremely helpful, but happy thoughts are not a substitute for decisive action. Boosterisms and empty platitudes like "One Canadian Economy" and "Elbows Up" are likewise no substitute for sound policy.
You ever get the feeling Carney knows this? I kinda do. He wants to do literally anything else, but he knows he can't. All he can do is smile, smile, smile...
No, Canada is in such dire straights because they refuse to address the problem because it harms their delicate sensibilities. This is the reason why I have dark fantasies of nuclear fire cleansing the GTA, Montreal, Ottawa, and the Lower Mainland. It's their refusal to adapt that prevents Canada from moving forward.
They can't ignore the reality forever, but they also can't properly predict who comes along and breaks this wide open. I was going to be a never-voter hating the system up until that Donald Trump guy ran a meme campaign and I thought it'd be funny to fuck with the system. Then he actually had a platform. Then he won the nomination. Then Hillary shat the bed and all of a sudden I found myself under the GOP's banner.

That's the thing with monopolies. There's always competition. What terrifies them is that they can neither see nor predict it. So aside from being the change you want to seek and considering lower offices no matter how dire it looks, I wouldn't give up hope that some dude can just unironically show up, flip the normal table of politics, and make everyone play a new game all in one night. Even the most AWFL bitch out there can blunder into being right if led properly.

Sorta. It sounds less bad ass when you look into and find out the Canadians were effectively fighting the German boy scouts.

America will never annex Canada because its too much work for too little gain, but it could make an offer for Alberta and the Prairie provinces to willingly join. And if the remains of Canada implodes because their piggy bank left they may beg to join, or just fracture - with Ontario and Quebec imploding while the Maritimes might join america or thrive if they can expand their industry without Ottowa blocking it.

Ah, but of course... the economic problems only began with the announcement of tariffs, and tariffs alone are responsible for every economic woe in this country. Please memory-hole all recollections prior to the tariffs, and please don't look at immigration numbers. It's evil America's fault that the youth can't find work, everything wrong with Canada is foul America's fault!

That's actually not accurate.

Youth face the blunt of 3 million migrants in Canada last year.
