As I noted nearly three months ago, it's not that "Canada" has Trump Derangement Syndrome; they are simply plain deranged. Seriously, there is not a single there in there that works at even the most basic level. The country is living proof that “Liberté, égalité, fraternité” failed. The counterpoint that an independent west could simply be it's own thing and work deals with the US as a sovereign nation without a bunch of socialist bullshit muddying the waters? Even among seperatists there isn't necessarily a huge appetite to be a State.

The West has become almost demonic with its treatment of youth and children (and it has only accelerated since Covid). Child sacrifice (abortion) is essentially a wedge issue or boogeyman in every election. Democracy can only work in a homogenous, high trust society. I think real totalitarianism needs to return for a brief period of time to knock the useless eaters back into their places. Sometimes people need to be told what is good for them. I am starting to believe National Socialism is the only solution.

The TL;DR is that many boomers have a messianic complex and that the entirety of history is locked behind a shroud of inaccessibility. Where the Greatest Generation took the post-World War II "never again" to mean that we should actively take steps to prevent the atrocities of the past, the Boomers believed that it meant it will never again because humanity is too enlightened for it to happen. They were the generation that was supposed to usher in a new age of peace, enlightenment, and universal human values. As such, they jealously clung onto power when Generation X and older Millennials were to take the reins. What they basically want all of the power with none of the responsibility, which is why you have Matt Janes (the Brantford Boomer) playing the victim card after his abhorrent behavior turned him into a meme.

Then there was what @Turkey Beef said about modern white women. I have yet to see a creature more insufferable than a boomer MWW. Every single one I have come across on X is arrogant, conceited, and expects nothing but praise and validation for simply existing. You will get nothing but condescension from them and will admit no fault, even when their incompetence is painfully obvious, while acting entitled to respect they never earned. Currently trying to realign my life and what fucking industries exist here that have any carry over? I was suggested train maintenance by @Lei Wulong's Left Leg but I found out I can't make it work where I live. What other options are there without schooling?

Fuck I hate living here.

Unless you want to suffer on the patch, there isn't much in the way of industry left that is hiring that is worth it. The Canadian auto industry is fucked and is union so it's basically impossible to get a job unless you know someone. Alot of places are bleeding workers or they have a demand for them but they offer shit pay or you have to move, but given the current housing situation, not many people have the financial means to upend their current life to move for more a career that could potentially go tit's up. Out west there is still some forestry jobs that are open usually. Some sort of trades job is probably your best bet but you would probably need a year of trade schooling for most things even though there is a crazy demand for things.

I was traveling for a good chunk of last while and returned to my old job but I want to save up to get out of this shit hole because pay is shit. Unfortunately I haven't found much.

Try and attach yourself to the maintenance of notable infrastructure around you, for example a dam, road, water treatment, power grid, ect. I would recommend going to trade school and learning how to be an electrician/plumber if you can. If not, get into forestry.

Good points in your post. Canada's tariff response and immigration policies are both alarming, and your reference to American/Chinese production highlights the current situation nicely.

For clarity, I didn't mean to imply that the USA has to save Canada/Canadians from themselves, just that the USA ignoring the rot would be a mistake. The USA ensuring its own security and prosperity is more important to them than the preservation of Canada/Canadians.

If Canada is the problem, then it is in the USA's best interest to address the problem peaceably or otherwise (pending severity).

Understandable that separatists tend to prefer independence rather than to join an existing country where possible.

I'm hearing more about what Alberta wishes they had than how they plan to get there so where it gets a bit cloudy, for me anyways, is how much autonomy and stability Alberta (or other western provinces) can realistically muster to first separate from Canada and then also maintain their independence as their own country going forward.

Time will tell I guess, and thanks for the reply.
