Racism is one of many tools used by all governments to divide and conquer a population.
The canadian politicians saw that canada was suffering from a labour shortage. Rather than fixing the problems that were causing canadians to not want to work ( poor working conditions, drug problems in the population, inadequate support from the government given the steep taxes we pay ) They decided to open the flood gates to india in order to ship in cheap labour. Companies lobbying the government for this "solution" also share the blame.
So we have a case where the canadian government is fucking up on multiple levels and is steeped in controversy and corruption. But at every turn, they praise the pajeets they shipped in for doing such a "good job" in order to cover their own asses, and deflect attention away from their fuck ups. This causes canadians to focus their attention towards the mass of immigrants coming in, undercutting them at every opportunity to take their jobs. But they aren't the ones that should be blamed. They are simply scapegoats used by the government to secure its power. The government essentially lied to them to create an underclass that would do all the shit jobs canadians didn't want to do.
This thread is stupid, because it's a bunch of people unproductively seething rather than trying to use their autistic powers to solve their problems. I also suspect that there are alot of americans here, larping as canadians, trying to convince people that canada's situation is worse than it actually is. Because that's what americans do when they don't have control. They blame canada for the fentanyl crisis, for their gun problems, and for their fucked climate policy.
Most canadians see it for what it is, and are not swayed by the constant propaganda coming from our neighbours down south, that have a vested interest in our vast resources. Instead they go outside, and see people are more or less normal, despite the insanity being displayed in the news. This is why I am against the aceleration towards doom attitude present in this thread.
We are in the middle of a GLOBAL recession. It is bad for everyone. This is why I am ambivalent to what label the ruling party is. The most important issue for me is anti-war. I do not need more tax dollars going towards ukraine, or israel, or any other fucked up scheme the united states is dragging canada into, like they did with the war in iraq. Those wars are the reason why social programs in canada are being cut. Canada has sent 12.4 BILLION (American dollars) to aid ukraine in their suicide mission.
