Canada is a failed state

at this point, the parasite class has no borders. They are their own classification. They do not have a country because they are able to fly from country to country in private jets as regularly as you drive your car. They are a stateless group of people with unlimited wealth. More money than they could possibly ever spend in a lifetime.
Labelling them laurentian elites presumes they hold some sort of loyalty to canada. They do not. Their only loyalty is in protecting their own power. Even if it means other people have to pay the price. It is the same behaviour currently being exhibited by the american's trade war tariffs. They are taxing other countries to pay for their overspending on wars. Canadians are held hostage by the entire government/banking system in the exact same way. Governments overspend, we pay the price.

I think it's a mistake to label this a canadian problem. This is more of an existential threat to humanity faced by every country on earth. I know that in some asian countries, like singapore, financial crimes are met with the death penalty.

That is true but their primary sources of revenue are still the Canadian business monopolies (think like the Weston’s and loblaws, the Bronffmans and Seagrams booze or the Irving’s and the state of New Brunswick). That is why the Laurentian elite term still works for them

This is a myth, or at least it's basically fake news.

We had no labour shortage, or we did, but not in the area people assume.

We had a labour shortage in middle management and jobs which require some level of competency. Why did we have this? Because for a decade and a half, entry level jobs didn't really exist, people have not been trained, and like- 1/10 people graduating have been getting a job in their field post great recession.

There's a shortage in mid level jobs and career jobs because practically noone has been trained from the ground up since that time.

So what's the fake news? We decided to import 8 million Indians to take these mid level jobs millineals lost our on (fucking over the zoomers now as well, because god forbid we actually train our own people or hire them out of university)

And also now the Indians are taking over all the McJobs, aka McDonald's, subway, Timmies, the LCBO, Walmart, etc.

So it's like "yeah we had a labour shortage" but it was literally one with a super easy solution

Aka: give native Canadians a shot, maybe incentivise companies to hire people out of uni, etc

And instead now we're paying companies premiums to hire refugees.

If someone ever tells you we have a labour shortage and the Indians were the reasonable solution, fuck em basically.

Had a really depressing convo with my boomer neighbour he's a good salt of the earth guy in general so I was able to refrain myself from political sperging all over him. But he was literally spouting chinese propaganda word for word. Telling me trump can never reshore manufacturing , that he nearly pissed himself watching the CCP AI of fat americans working in a chinese style sweatshop. (this guy himself is 80 pounds overweight with a big ol beer belly) Saying how are we going to afford any cheap plastic consumerable if there made in America. That Canada should shut off our oil and hydroelectricity to the states.

The really depressing part is the dude is just some retired tradesmen from Chrysler not some smug overeducated bugperson. We really are cooked as a country.

That is because Boomers (and what remains of the Silent Generation) were conditioned to believe what they read in the newspapers and watch on television because that particular medium came to prominence in their childhoods. It never occurs to them that the man or woman on CBC would ever lie or withhold information from them. Something that should be addressed is the generational divide this election because much of Poilievre's support comes younger demographics, especially young men. Meanwhile, the Liberal base skews older and more female as they go for candidates that appeal to their base emotions. What I find funny is that they disdain Poilievre for "being mean" yet swoon over Carney, who runs away and hides whenever the heat becomes too much. Wouldn't you want a leader who will stand his ground, even if he can be abrasive and sarcastic? Odds are high that Carney would fold like a cheap tent in negotiations because even he knows that what economic leverage on the Americans is extremely weak at best. It would take years to pivot to a declining EU and Pacific Rim for trade as well as build infrastructure, which he will not do because he will not remove the bureaucratic barriers to construction.

In short, Canadian culture disdains critical thought and individuality. It is your fault for noticing the cracks in the system and not the people in charge of it.

That being said, I think the main cause of economic turmoil is funding the american wars overseas.
I think the jeet slaves were brought in to prop up the economy, as the entire western world decided to make moves against russia and china.

People in Canada are trained from a very young age to understand that there are certain questions you are not allowed to ask. Those that fit the mold are labelled good students and are filtered through to upper education. Those that ask questions are excluded from the system. What you are left with is a filtered group of intellectuals, that do not ask certain questions, and have been thoroughly trained not to be curious.

My friends with Masters/PHD's are some of the dumbest fucking people when it comes to hivemind antics, and lazy acceptance of whatever is presented in front of them by "official" sources. Meanwhile the ones that work trades (construction/car mechanics) are the only ones that are willing to discuss politics.

You can make an accurate guess, whether someone got vaccinated for covid, depending on the job they work.

The worst part about this report is knowing that the government has wasted millions upon millions on this "Policy Horizons" group.

Why are we even paying for people to write this stuff?

Looking up some of the people working there on Linkedin and they all have degrees in the liberal arts or soft sciences like "Health Studies". More than a couple seem to have or be getting a "Master of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation", which sounds like the most bullshit degree ever.

If we are going to pie in the sky about the future we could at least have people with PHDs in the actual sciences writing the reports. Instead we have a bunch of midwits writing reports that favour their own political biases and have the most basic takes.

I can’t wait to laugh and mock all the Carney supporters when shit gets worse under him. Though I’m sure they’ll just deflect and say it’s Trump’s fault even though being smart enough to beat Trump is the exact reason why they voted for him.
