Despite Ontarian kvetching, I'm pretty sure the US could conquer Canada just by walking in, deputizing, and arming the portion of the country tired of jeets. I, for one, look forward to Alberta's conquest of Toronto riding to war in battle trucks. May their horns never quiet.

Seriously, can Canada even put down an armed revolt if the US funded rebel groups? Their control of the country outside of big cities is dubious at best. It's basically impossible to stop weapon smuggling. I'm quite confident the US could color revolution Canada in a fortnite if the mood arises. There are already enough Ukrainian refugees there with resumes boasting of Maidan square participation to show the canucks the ropes.

Policing attitudes quickly turning into wild west and "do what you gotta do"... but no cool mustaches and sheriff dusters.

High likelihood of the home invaders being white, South Glengarry is very rural and white. 'Targeted' could mean that the robbers had specifically chosen that home because of what they hoped to find in it, or it could be some 'rival meth dealer' shit.
EDIT: the Markham shooting could probably be 'solved' by average people if the police would release some basic details about the victim. They always make these things sound mysterious to avoid letting on that we have ethnic mafias and foreign agents operating freely in this country.

I saw this one yesterday. The commentary is very Canadian. A guy in Kitchener pulls a hatchet on the cop, gets tazed twice. Another cop runs runs around in circles in the background until backup arrives.

I can't find a name, but the guy is wearing Carhartt's and driving a one ton work truck, so its safe to assume he is a (pissed off) Canadian.

What began as a collision and road closure Feb. 5 in the area of Strasburg Road and Block Line Road in Kitchener has been revealed to have been a more dangerous situation.

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) said officers were on a proactive patrol in the area when their systems flagged a disqualified driver. When the driver of the vehicle saw the police cruiser, he quickly sped off, attempting to evade the officers.

In the process, the driver sped through a red light in the intersection, colliding with another vehicle. When police attended the scene, the man got out of his vehicle and attempted to fight with an officer.

A conducted energy weapon (taser) was deployed to attempt to contain the situation, with a video circulating online from a witness showing that the officer was able to get the man to the ground. However, the man was able to get back up, return to his vehicle, and grab a hatchet, then threaten the officer.

Witness videos show the man circling around the officer, who had dropped the taser and pulled out a firearm. WRPS says it was able to then restrain and arrest the individual.

A road closure was in effect for both cleanup for the collision and the initial investigation efforts. Three people were in the struck vehicle, all being sent to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The 27-year-old man from Kitchener is now facing a list of charges, including:

Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Assault police
Resist arrest
Assault police officer with a weapon
Disarming a police officer
Dangerous operation of a vehicle

The man was held for a bail hearing.

The investigation is still ongoing and anyone who has further information on the man or the incident, particularly those who witnessed it or have dash-cam footage, is asked to contact WRPS.

Duplessis was an incredibly corrupt man. One of his common nicknames was The Boss.

He would give Trudeau a run for his money. He had balls for one, he was the Quebec Premier for 18 years, which Trudeau can only dream about. The only reason he didn't go beyond 18 years is because he had a stroke and dropped dead.

His reign is part of why Quebec attempts to be secular. He used religion as an iron fist to get people to vote for him and the roman catholic church was intertwined in his party. Duplessis was known for being very pro-business, but to a point where he would extract natural resources and sell them for low, low prices including to America. There are plenty reasons why there are multiple instances of French Canadians being described as white niggers, because they were treated as such. Low education, high levels of illiteracy.

The end of his reign was followed by the "Quiet Revolution". I think that's where Quebec made multiple excellent moves. The Quebec pension plan and Hydro-Quebec being established being two of them. Though if you asked me what Quebec is doing today, I don't know.

From traveling through all the southern provinces, we just seem to have this broken society with no ambitions, ran by hapless leaders who have retarded projects like 15 minute cities. Quebec does have a penchant for authority though, Quebec is the only territory in North America that had police state curfews during COVID.

I do wonder how that will turn out in the general public. I heard that there was a large influx of customers stocking up on American alcohols after Trudy did his little announcement. The media is whipping itself into a frenzy, they love Trump, but it's not representative of the population.

It doesn't matter if you strengthen inter-provincial trade if you have nothing interesting to sell.

As I've said earlier, it seems like our competitive advantage is to tell corporations we'll work like niggers to attract them to invest. With Trump's threats of tariffs, that just won't happen. No sane business will deploy large investments in Canada if everything can go to shit next month. Canadian media wants to paint Trump as a moron, when he is the opposite. It is not in his interests for business to invest in Canada, and the threat of tariffs has far reaching implications beyond the tariff itself.

And of course all of Trudeau's "labour/business/government" leaders agree with him. They all have a vested interest in remaining oligarchs and being noncompetitive dinosaurs.

Bergen is batshit. In what universe does anyone want Canadian "tech goods" and "cyber-security systems" backdoored to Beijing and everywhere in between? These people are all complete lunatics.
