It isn't so bad everywhere. I volunteer at a food bank every now and then and they have me sorting the perishables they get, along with sorting cans and checking for deformities. Even then, most of the canned stuff is whole items like beans or tomato sauce or whatever. Sometimes basic no name chicken noodle soup but that's all about they put out in the family bags, along with pasta / perishable like bread / sometimes vegetables.
I think the quality of the food, even if it is free and past date, is infinitely better than anything you could get for free in india.
I don't know if it is structured the same everywhere, but the videos you see of them showing off the haul of four bags of food for completely free is usually the stuff they pack up for families. What they say to get them, I wouldn't know, because most of the videos are in hindi. lol

Always knew the mass grave bullshit was fake because despite reading about native history in Canada since grade 8 I've never once heard mass graves get mentioned.
Kids did die at residential schools dont get me wrong but they were either given a proper burial or there was nothing to bury, these places were ran by the church why would they not properly bury the kids?
I've seen the graves at residential schools near where i live and they were all properly marked with grave markers.
If anything they probably found the one or two residential schools that had mass graves and assumed every RS had one.

Food bank food is literally just normal food. The 10 year old cans of weird fish donated by Boomer food hoarders are thrown in the garbage at the warehouse. All of the food is sorted.

This did not used to be the case. This was way back in 2000 but I got worms as a child from a can of zoodles from the foodbank.

I Remember us getting a box of frosted flakes and it was literally taped together with duct tape. Every can we got was dented. And there was no fresh food or milk. Only powdered milk back then. Back then the food was beyond expired.

I have no idea what the quality of the food is like now, maybe things have changed, but good god it was absolutely disgusting back then.

The elderly are on fixed incomes and most are not able bodied (so for young Indians taking food, when they should be able to support themselves, on saved income alone), I generally don't like this

We also had limited supplies and people would literally swarm the food drop offs and fight over the take home food on a Sunday.

This was before covid, and before the Indians. I dont want people fighting over food when they dont need to, but I especially dont want to further burden the system with 9 million Indians.

Thats the problem, and thats the issue with Canada. I, and we, want to be nice and to give away things, to have a social safety net- but even before the pandemic, things wernt that good. Adding 9 million Indians, who are supposed to be able to take care of themselves;

finding out that many can, that they just want to get free food because they saw it from a tiktok,

sours it for everyone, and makes me mistrustful of the entire ethnicity, because also- theres very few Indians calling the bad actors out for their behavior, and far too many encouraging it.

Before the Indians? Oh my God, no. Canada has been swamped with Indian immigration for longer than that and they were heavily reliant on assistance. But they were in large cities. The majority of them have always been food bank users, low wage workers and public housing dwellers. The only thing that changed after 2020 was that LMIA expanded and the Indian student scam began bringing in many more low skilled Indians.

We have wealthy Indians in Canada who are upper class and well educate but they tend to come from money back home or they have been in Canada for several generations and are westernized.

Brampton, Mississauga, Scarborough, Malvern have been jeeted for many, many, many years. Good lord. It was like 2005 and I already noticed were had a problem even back then with all these poor Indian immigrants let alone the Muslims.

I visited Kingston this year and there was nothing to do except thousand Island and maybe some museums.

Its the same as any other town in Ontario..... A rather down trodden downtown that's propped up by properties taxes of the suburbs. An economic zone defined by one or two major malls and government offices.
