US occupation of Canada is basically just everything west of Ontario that has natural resources the US wants. I doubt it would extend beyond border checkpoints to keep out unwanted persons. The US could easily find angry Canadians west of Ontario who would be more than happy to secede from Ontario's tyranny. I doubt any US boots would hit the ground beyond spec ops to train Canadian militias. There would be plenty of plausible deniability too. The US didn't roll tanks into Canada. US weapons just coincidentally show up in the hands of secessionists who just so happy to favor close ties with the US over China and India. Pure happenstance, certainly not something the Green Berets are explicitly trained to do.

Honestly, trying to get US support to break away from Ontario might be the best chance western Canada has. Depending on the president at the time, it might even be feasible but you'd need someone willing to tank the "reputation" of the US in the eyes of internationalists who want to see every country stripped for parts.

I went on a trip to Great Falls, MT last year and was... underwhelmed by the selection. In terms of pop there was certainly more as I bought a case each of Dr. Pepper Strawberries & Cream and Cherry, but nothing that particularly grabbed me. Cereals were pretty much similar, though I was intrigued by the flavors of Pop-Tarts like Boston Cream. Frankly, the only thing that really stood out to me was cheesecake-flavored pudding from Jell-O.

Then again, Great Falls sits in the most desolate parts in the USA so selections may vary elsewhere.
