California recently became the first state to ban the sale of propane cylinders that cannot be refilled or reused, as Governor Newsom singed Senate Bill 1280 into law. Beginning January 1, 2028, only refillable propane canisters and cylinders will be offered for sale within the California market.

Single-use propane canisters, such as U.S. DOT 39 cylinders, are popular with consumers due to their size, portability, and versatility. However, these types of propane vessels have, in recent years, caught the eye of legislators and organizations that are focused on reducing packaging waste and promoting a more circular-economy in which product packaging can be reused, and has a longer lifespan in general. Outside of California, single-use propane cylinders have also been the focus of product stewardship laws in other states, such as Vermont.

Retards can't put the brakes on their homeless outbreak or niggers stealing/burning everything, but the certainly have time and resources to ban things that are contained in the most recyclable container know to man, and stupidly easy to refill yet made illegal to refill by......... California.

This absolute nigger of a state can't accept that they have ruined gas cans in all of the U.S. while causing far more spilled gas in the process, so they are now coming after propane. I hope Hank Hill helps these retards burn themselves out of existence.

Why is this a bad thing? I don't know what any of this entails.

The only really use I seen of single use was for blow torches, which would be a big deal as reusable ones for those are hard to come buy and fill. Big tanks for grills or camping are all reusable.

Small propane cylinders are used quite a bit for camping, as you do not want to pack a a 20# cylinder all day up a mountain so that you can run your cooking device and lanterns. They are also extremely useful for small torches which have a ton of uses to plumbers, contractors, mechanics, and homeowners.
The cylinders themselves are almost always made from steel which is one the most recyclable material we have, while propane/natural gas is very clean burning and is what many coal burning power plants have converted to in order to meet emission standards .
California seems to think that as long as they are the tip of the spear and appeasing the soymade alphabet dick lobbers they can pretend niggers and homeless drug addicts aren't taking over their burning shithole.

Edit# those cylinders are also pretty easy to refill with a cheap adapter which makes them reusable, but I'm pretty positive that is technically illegal to do in Ca

I didn't even consider there were propane cylinders that can't be refilled. Home Depot and some other places like gas stations literally have a turn-in for old cylinders while also selling them; like some Hank Hill type Leave a Penny Take a Penny system. I mean, it's a fucking container that holds a gas under pressure, not the most fucking complex technology.

That's probably how this retardation passed, because most Californians have no idea how to build or fix anything, and they also do go outdooring. They usually look like these pics, and are quite useful to alot of people . Bernzomatic_UL100_kit_06.jpg 44615179-72e4-4397-93f7-165357e5c283_1.bf7598ed59800dc57475cfea4b109810-234424160.jpeg

First I want say I'm amazed by all the retards in this thread who think this law is about the propane tank you use on gas grills

If you go camping, After a big trip you might end up with 2 or 3 of those small 1lb propane tanks empty. It's not clear what you're supposed to do with them. I think lots of people just throw them in the trash because to try to recycle them is a huge hassle.

Making them refillable makes sense.

You're retarded if you don't think that's where it's heading. I'd be willing to bet that most people don't dispose of aerosol cans properly either. If you can't recycle or throw away, the hazardous material disposal place; it's not a brain buster or hard, it's retards being lazy and the state overstepping and forcing retarded changes.

Are you talking hair spray or spray paint? That just goes in the trash. What "disposal" are you talking about. They are empty discharged cans. This sounds like californian retardation.

I decided to have a look at this law. It is 1lb propane cannisters that will have to be reusable, not all of them.

As i am not a Californian, nor an American, can't you use butane instead for camping?

It is a California thing and mainly spray paint, but the state has a blanket aerosol can that isn't empty. They'd prefer citizens perform due diligence and I'm sure they sort the trash at their facilities, but they'd prefer you to take a trip to the same place you drop off used motor oil and other shit. Just waiting until the state has official trash inspectors to fine you for violating their laws.
