Britney Spears reveals the horror film that is her life

It was heartbreaking to hear Britney Spears plead her case before a Los Angeles judge Wednesday, saying simply, “I just want my life back.”
Spears, who will be 40 this December, has been under her father’s conservatorship since 2008. Jamie Spears has controlled not only his daughter’s $60 million fortune but every aspect of her career and life — from terms of her Las Vegas residency to whether she could replace her kitchen cabinets.

No, Jamie told her. Too much money, even though she pays him $16,000 a month, is forced to pay for his attorneys — who have argued for years against her stated wishes, namely to be free — plus the cuts he gets from Britney’s tours and Vegas show.

“She is ‘sick of being taken advantage of,’ ” a court investigator reported in 2016, “and she said she is the one working but everyone around her is on her payroll.”
Spears was pulling in millions from her residency, but was allowed only $2,000 a week.

We’ve never heard Spears talk like this before. She’s never shared what she thinks or feels about the conservatorship — even as the #FreeBritney movement galvanized during the pandemic, as fans scoured her Instagram account for hidden messages or clues, as the documentary “Framing Britney Spears” made a case against the pop music machine, the media, and the public at large for victimizing Britney.

It’s sad, bracing stuff. Britney Spears has long been something of an American tragedy. She doesn’t want that anymore. She wants her independence and her father — who she describes as her tormentor — out of her life.“[My father] loved the control he had over me, one hundred thousand percent,” Britney told the judge.

This control, Britney said, extends to her sex life and whether she can have another child. “I have an IUD in my body right now they won’t let me take out,” she said.

This is “Handmaid’s Tale” stuff.
“I want to be able to get married to my boyfriend and have a baby but the conservatorship told me I can’t do that,” she said. “I feel ganged up on and bullied and alone.”

As for her tepid claims, till now, that she’s been fine with the status quo: “I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m OK and happy,” Britney said. “I’ve been in denial. I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized.”

“But now I’m telling you the truth, I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry it’s insane . . . I cry every day.”
She asked that the conservatorship be terminated, no more questions, no more bs.

“I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive,” she said.
Doesn’t get much clearer than that.
Conservatorships are typically granted only in extreme cases: A person is suffering from dementia or some other dire limitations.

Spears, a mother of two, has successfully performed in Vegas for years without incident. How hapless can she be?

It will be fascinating to see how this plays out now, post-#MeToo. Here we have a “troublesome female” — a child star sexualized as a young teenager, who shot to global superstardom, the media hounding her over whether she was still a virgin, a girl whose every relationship, parents included, was based on what she could do for them — claiming that her father has forcibly institutionalized her and forced her perform against her will, once as she suffered from a 104 degree fever.

“In California,” Britney said, “the only similar thing to this is called sex trafficking, making anyone work against their will, taking all their possessions away: credit card, phone, passport.”
Upon her institutionalization, Britney said, “I cried on the phone to my dad for an hour and he loved every minute of it. My dad and everyone else who has played a key role in my conservatorship should be in jail. They have way too much control.”

Her father has “enslaved” her, she said. “He made me feel like death . . . I don’t want to be in this stupid conservatorship anymore. It’s embarrassing and humiliating.”

Historically we’ve seen a lot of erratic, self-destructive behavior from male celebrities. Can you think of one who has been kept under conservatorship for years — or ever?

Yet here is a female superstar still under her father’s thumb — a father she is “afraid of,” as Spears told the court last year, one who is a recovering alcoholic and has allegedly been physically and verbally abusive.

In 2014, when Spears told the court she believed her father was drinking again and requested that he follow the rules — take the regular alcohol tests he volunteered for, Jamie refusing to do more than just one — the judge in the case was outraged. At Britney.
“Who is she to be demanding that of anybody?”
The subtext is unmistakable: Who is she to challenge her father, let alone the court? Who is she to demand personal autonomy?

Britney Spears may, as has been documented, have mental illness. She, like her father, may have had issues with substances.

But that is no argument against allowing a nearly 40-year-old woman to live her life as she chooses — whether that’s squandering all her money or retiring from public life or having a baby or, horrors, replacing the kitchen cabinets.
#FreeBritney.

Honestly she deserves freedom. Its ridiculous that she can't have anything of her own. She had a mental breakdown yes, but that's because of the media.

Got curious about the hiatus in 2019 and noticed that Britney went on hiatus because her dad was recovering from a life threatening condition (his colon ruptured).

Which means it was in this year he was getting over his colon rupturing that he approved the deal to have Britney stay with the talent agency she'd been with for years. So during the time of the various surgeries being done, where Britney had even put her Las Vegas show on hold to be with him, he signed the deal that she says cost a little over $300k (since they would have made less from only earning based on the 5% commission due to her not performing).

This is her full statement to the judge:

This is fucking insane. She refused to do a certain dance move during rehearsals so they doped her up on lithium and wouldn't let her out of the house for a month. Heads should fucking roll for this.

This was the chick so fucked up that South Park did an episode where they essentially said "Yeah, we all love ragging on celebrities but can we make an exception in this case? Because it seriously looks like she's about to fucking kill herself".

Around that time, media and gossip blogs went crazy over the escapades of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Both were drunkenly roaming clubs and bars, one showing her crotch to all paparazzi and the other, running over people. And then Britney joined them, also showing her crotch. I remember it was a big event when they spotted her with the other two.

After that, it was only going down for her. Even the same gossip blogs said things like "ok, stop, she has babies, help her." Celebrity life wasn't for her, she obviously had no self control back then. It made sense to protect her then, but not any more.

Nigger if you made millions of dollars yearly and some cunt said you can only spend 2000 dollars a week you would be pissed off too.
Plus she's not even allowed to have a kid even though she wants one and would have the money to care for it. That's pretty fucked up a grown woman who as far as we know has been pretty stable for a while now isn't even allowed to have another kid while she still can.

This is just as fucked as doctors refusing to sterilize women who want to be or banning abortion. There are definitely people unfit to have kids but Brit isnt one of them currently as far as we know. Shit, I mentioned Bam Margera earlier, if he weren't such a painfully obvious closet case I'm sure he'd have already popped out another kid (with possible FAS) that he isnt capable of caring for with an equally incapable addict.

Lithium is fucking rough on your body too, like chemo tier almost. It can give you permanent organ damage even with careful dosage and regular bloodwork. It should be a last resort only if nothing else is working.

If all she says is true, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is, this is like violation of basic human rights type shit. Jesus fucking christ.

And yeah the conservatorship shit she has is the kinda thing even literally tards don't get or need unless they're really severely disabled. I don't know much about them but fron the sounds of it that level of restriction is something only the most extreme and disabled person would get.

A long time ago a woman asked me if I liked Britney Spears, and I said yes, and she said, “that means your gay.” I freaked the fuck out immediately and started screaming at her cussing at her and started insulting her and I was calling her a retarded lesbian. I had no idea at the time why the woman said that. Then I later realized it was because of that stupid Chris Crocker “leave Brittney alone” video and the woman was actually just joking but the damage was done and me and that woman were enemies for the remainder of the time I knew her. I’m straight.

Unquestionably.
This conservatorship is 100% for a scummy trailer trash fuck old mans grifting needs. End of story.
100% (:_(
Britney may be a CSA and Hollywood victim who went all Monarch-crazy, but her dad and family is just using her as a cash cow.
I think she was a Star Search contestant with Beyonce, Timberlake, etc?
She was.
Here she is on Star Search
and here she is on the Micky Mouse club in a sketch with Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Ryan Gosling

I can still remember that pic of britney flashing her beav getting out of paris' car, it made paris in the driver's seat look pretty regal and refined in comparison

The wisdom of Roseanne will show you how stupid this line of thinking is:

Crazy people can waste their money and ruin their lives. The only reason this is an issue is because Spears' father is a greedy piece of shit.
I do agree, her family has gone too far, but look at what happened with her mania shortly before her publicized breakdown. She got pregnant by a moocher and started flipping out.

I've seen Britney's behavior several times, and it's not a good sign. Her father and family need to step back as conservators and Britney needs to appoint someone who is healthy until she can make good decisions....like taking medications. People are complaining she's on lithium, but it's kind of the first line medication that is prescribed in response to euphoric mania...it's also way better than being on antipsychotics. I'm not saying her parents are right in any sense of the word, but there's so much grey area involved with Britney and her condition.

Then tell me this: if she's so fucked up she can't be trusted to make basic decisions then why has she spent all these years recording albums, doing shows and judging X factors, all to make money for her father who controls all her finances? You wouldn't use a cattle prod to make your severely senile grandfather dance for the amusement of strangers, not unless you were a fucking psychopath.

I don't care for Britney, but this conservatorship is 100 percent bullshit. Most people don't understand how they work. To require a conservatorship means you suffer from several mental/cognitive disabilities that prevents you from not making and understanding decisions.

This doesn't mean being mentally unstable or making stupid career decisions. If that was all it took to need a conservatorship, then a shit load of people would get them. In the USA, you're allowed to make choices, even if they are bad choices, and being bipolar isn't enough to have your God given rights taken away.
"Well, obviously she's crazy. You'd HAVE to be crazy to not to want to make millions to put yourself through the stress of another tour that enriches your handlers! Right?!"

Eh, that's Mariah Carey type crazy...staying up all night, not going to sleep working all the time. Britney spears is definetly batshit and impulse type crazy where she's not compliant with her meds because she likes the pretty colors that make her dance into a dehydrative coma.

She can't perform while she's pregnant; that's why he shoved an IUD up her vag.
It could also be because she’s on some pretty serious meds which could fuck up a fetus something awful. Lithium isn’t even the most hardcore psych med out there but carries a severe risk of birth defects.

The problem is not whether she is crazy or not. She is indeed very damaged and needs medication, but then many people are and they aren't made slaves by their caretakers. The only reason this is happening to her is because she makes a ton of money. If she was some random secretary, her family wouldn't mind beyond occasionally keeping an eye on her. Adults who are under mental supervision are expected to make a life on their own if they are capable and Britney is capable of managing herself when she takes her meds. She doesn't need her father.

We even got a glimpse of her c-section scar.

I never understood how these women were so unable to step out of a car without showing her crotches. Paris and Lindsay were probably doing it in purpose, Britney was just being dumb.

Conservatorships are for mental invalids who can barely feed themselves, let alone hold down a career. She should be needing 24/7 care.
If she really is that invalid then this is basically trotting out a monkey with an organ grinder level of fucked up.

$60 million plus a bunch more that isn't accounted for says this is about money, dear boy. Her whole family is sucking her dry and doesn't want her taking any time off because the spice must flow. The drugs are just part of the overall picture. But keep telling yourself Jaime Spears gives a fuck about a clump of cells.

tfw when you thought legal slavery was over in America except for black dudes and white junkies in the prisons

Everyone's making money off of Britney but her. It's sad and pathetic that her father does this to his own child.

Fun fact: Britney isn't allowed to hire her own lawyer. Her father gets to pick one for her even though he would be the target of any legal action she wants to carry out. She's also paying for her father's lawyers since he controls her finances. And yes, the conservatorship forbids her to get married or have any more kids, thus explaining the IUD. It was either that or force her to break up with her boyfriend and start living a life of celibacy.
