A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Maybe this is the part where we realize society can't operate if you just let certain segments of the population get away with murder because they'll start making utterly bogus racism/twanzfobia/other bullshit accusations the instant they're told to obey the law.

I would say that a lot of these problem areas are not being cucked to, or anything much at all, they are being left behind. No one wants to deal with them because you know the moment you say some shit like "dear sir, could you stop commiting a crime thanks" you will be accused of racism. Your name in the papers, gaffers on your arse for the bad press, your wife shit on at work, your kids treated like lepers, your whole fucking life in the shitter. So what happens is people just avoid them, just keep ignoring them and let them sit in their shit. They will blame you for not doing enough anyway, but at least inaction is harder to swing that "RAWSISM" any time you ask one of them to stop raping the shit out of their nieces.
 
I got mugged once, punched in the face twice and had my phone stolen, the cops pretty much just asked for my IMEI so they could get it deactivated and pretty much said "we won't be able to find them".

Some dude posts a video of a pug, the ugliest fucking pet on earth, doing Nazi salutes and he gets raided within a week.
Some Reddit user calls someone a "Toxteth monkey", not even knowing the race of the person in question, and gets raided within a week.
Some lass posts lyrics from her favourite rapper on Instagram and gets raided within a week.
Some dude posts something on Twitter and gets a visit from cops who told him off within a week.

I'm starting to get pissed off at the state of our police force. Instead of going after easy crimes what about going after the cunts who actually harm people?

I've had this too. One time some twats on a moped (I'm guessing) went down the street and knocked the wing mirror off every car. Went to the police, "Here's your incident number for when you claim on insurance". They were very up front that unless we had CCTV of the perpetrators, no work was going to be done to catch the fuckers.

And you think fair enough. Some twats did that in the middle of the night and rode off. It's pretty much impossible to catch them unless someone saw or has a video or something. But then you think they seem to have resources for other things...

Too much effort.

I mentioned on here that I did a stint on a locum contract in house with [area] Police. Well, this job was based at the force HQ which we'll call Central Plains. After being sent on transgender awareness training where AL told us that she was advising that we should have male, female, trans, and disabled bogs, and should have one officer of one gender search the top half of a trans offender and an officer of the other gender search the bottom half, and ask their pronouns upon arrest, because as a public body they had to be seen to go further than other people in complying with the law and go above and beyond the legal requirements.

Well, I asked AL later about how many transgender officers [area] had on its force. I was told about six. Coincidentally, they all also worked on cushy desk jobs at Central Plains, I found out. Not for them rolling around in the gutters of [city] trying to subdue aggressive drunks after chucking out time. Not for them grabbing your friendly local serial burglar or crashing through the ceiling of the cuckooed safe house of a County Lines gang. No. They were all sat in HQ in nice offices with their cups of milky tea generating large quantities of initiatives and paperwork.

The next day, at the department meeting, the head of department, who was a humourless cunt bitch and is a prime example of what happens when Karen is the manager, declared that it was "Modern Slavery Week" and that we should be especially "mindful" of the impact of modern slavery on communities in [area]. Not to do anything about it though; I remember bouncing off the walls because a DS who was investigating human trafficking in a nail bar told me to down tools on a Court application to assist with investigating same because his boss had pulled the "muh community cohesion" card on him.

I kept getting bollockings off Karen the Manager for not following procedures (like, doing stuff proactively and going directly to the officer or officers concerned to get it signed off because there were Court deadlines looming rather than having endless bullshit meetings about proper channels) and then further bollockings for grumbling about it to myself audibly because this was "undermining staff morale."

The contract was then cut short because I was overheard ringing the locum agency on my lunch break, telling them all the above, and asking "whose dick do I have to suck to get a fair go around here." Just before Christmas it was.

But that was okay. I then got a job back in private practice almost immediately afterwards which paid 33% more than what [area] Police were paying for their in house lawyers. In the words of a certain Radio Norwich presenter, needless to say, I had the last laugh.

No, I'm a lawyer. I was an in house lawyer for [area] Police for a while a few years back when this happened.

To the extent they even have money for "investigating" shit that isn't even a crime it should be taken away and they should be forced to spend it on things that are actually police matters, not some tranny crying about someone being able to tell that he's a man.

The infection of socialism and bureaucracy in this institution is apparent. Spend money on policing people for "online harassment", virtue signal and put troons in comfy desk jobs, generate inefficient procedure to be followed, punish those who use more expedient methods. Real crimes like burglary or property destruction is for the insurance to deal with unless racism is involved. The Met has a disasterous leader, money is being thrown at bullshit instead of real issues.

A lot of these positions need to be cut. Diversity Karens sacked, reassign officers working cushy paper pushing jobs, slash and reassign internet patrol squads, get on the street or fuck off etc. It's a bloated institution with many redundant jobs. Same can be done with the civil service, that's bloated as well.

Extremely similar to my experience that finally had be leave. We had (and I'll bet good money still have) a good olde "grooming gang" that kept getting written up as isolated incidents when people got caught. Was always the same guys in the same area of two neighbouring towns who all worked for the same company (gets the noggin jogging). They kept getting "community orders" that basically said if you get caught with drunk/drugged undergrad girls again you'll be arrested", which they always were and then given the same order again. The girls involved always gave statements that what they were doing was consensual and even though they were usually 12-15. This was somehow used as a reason not to do anyone for rape/sexual assault even though consent at that age is impossible, and we keep churning out posters about drunk means no consent.

I went to great lengths to gather evidence to link it all together as one group that were sourcing and grooming these girls, were taking them to a certain place, plying them with alcohol and drugs then fucking them. I got video of the lot from a guy who's house overlooked one of the locations and was always reporting it. My "superiors" wouldn't even review the video because the guy who had taken it had been done for racist public order in the past so was "just out to harm the community for racist motives". I appealed it as high as I could, then resigned when no one would listen because no way am I turning a blind eye to that shit.

Shoulda leaked it to the press.

One of the other things I did in [area] Police's legal department was a lot of applications for Sexual Harm Prevention Orders and Sexual Risk Orders and suchlike. Basically I was Assistant to the Paedofinder General for [county]. They relied far too heavily for comfort on Letzgo Hunting type online vigilantes to locate suspected child abusers and not enough on teachers, social workers, or medical staff raising safeguarding concerns. In fact they seemed to go out their way to avoid such referrals which is how the sorry saga of EL took place; if [city] social services had been quicker to act upon concerns raised by hospital staff then EL would still be alive, I suspect.

Had [city] a more sizeable community of adherents to the Religion of Peace, they probably would have had their own grooming gangs and got away with it too.

It's odd because Derbyshire, its politicians and people are far and away from the "ultrawoke" you'd expect.

Instead, it's the coppers leadership who seem to be worse than fucking useless, as are their comms department who saw shit like the Drone Footage and thought that'd be the good idea to put up. There's been a great poster campaign I saw when shopping over t'border from them which is about how the roads are quieter, but the speed's the same so be careful. Complete with one of Derbyshire's many many appealing driving and biking roads.

The only office of note now held by Labour in the entire county is that of the Police and Crime Commissioner, their two last remaining MPs in the county are in Chesterfield (By just 2,000 votes) and Derby South ( 6,000+ Held by the excellent MP and former minister Margrett Beckett).

They even lost control of the city to a UKIP/Tory alliance, the former of whom have now renamed themselves Reform Derby.

All that's left held by the wokeish crowd are places to the East that are largely affected by liberal types from Nottingham and Sheffield moving there alongside the usual miserable ex mining families who refuse to find other types of work.

The problem as I see it is that the P&CC role seems to happen on years there's no other elections coinciding with it, so the turnout's always dismal and almost always all Labour voting for useless police practises.

This is all I can think of whenever there's a dogmatic commitment to rules especially when it comes to meetings, protocol, irrelevant information and the allocation of labour. Management types seem to be operating from an instruction sheet given to workers of Nazi occupied Europe.
