A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Probably both. Mindgeek owns most of the sites we know. Pornhub, Brazzers, Reality Kings, Digital Playground, Twistys etc. It's basically a monopoly on the mainstream porn sites. All are under them. IIRC, all of those sites have different memberships, so if you want different content (scene direction, kink, actresses), you gotta pay for each one. More membership = more money.

Edit: IIRC some of those sites (DP and Wicked especially, I think) have popular actresses on exclusivity contracts, where they only do scenes for that site, even though they all fall under ownership of Mindgeek. You want to see that actress' latest scenes, you have to sign up membership to that specific site.

The latest BBC drama 'Years And Years' is the best example of this, it's a legit good concept (following 15 years in the lives of 'a typical British family') and some of the things it introduces is actually really fucking fascinating (one of the teenage daughters comes out as trans. The main characters are a girl with Spina Bifada who has a kid from a Chinky guy in the very beginning and raises him as a single mum, a gay guy, a straight guy who is married to a stroppy nigress and a leftie bitch activist.

But they're not BBC characters! Most of these people live in Manchester rather than London!

They might insist on it in theory, but in practice I doubt the separation has ever been that airtight.
Even going back as far as the Laws of Manu (see especially Chapter X in here) they go into great detail about the various "hybrids" resulting from different castes, inheritance laws for men with wives of multiple different castes, and criminal punishments for various types of forbidden intercourse between castes. Some of it seems fanciful, but this was obviously on people's minds enough that someone saw fit to put these laws into the mouth of a sage.

No different than New York or any other major international city. Crime, especially murder/homicides, was decreasing slowly for years, then suddenly has bumped back up since he got in. He's slashed stop and search, only to then u-turn on it when this backfired and was put under pressure. Knife, burglary and robbery have gone up by more than half in his three years. The crackdown on knifes have not only failed, but lead to gangs switching to acid carried in waterbottles. The guy seems more concerned with signalling his love for the EU and his disdain for Trump than cracking down on crime.

Yanks may also know him as the human rights lawyer who represented Louis Farrakhan in his appeal to enter the UK back in the early 2000s. So someone like Farrakhan, who is on record saying that "Hitler was a great man", is the leader of the NOI, and made all other sorts of "racist comments", is someone who Sadiq represented and to this day, finds it fine that he does so, whilst wanting to bar the leader of a country and the UK's most vital ally post Brexit. I didn't see him kicking up a fuss when the Emir of Qatar in spite of its heavy restrictions and support for terrorist groups.

Is he anti-western? It's arguable/disputable. Is he a complete cunt? Definitely.
