A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I wish I would have been able to see Europe before it fell to ruin.
I'm not a fan of mass-immigration either but this kind of sentiment is just dumb. Europe hasn't ceased to exist just because a few brown people live here now. Don't let scare stories from /pol/ put you off visiting, if your perception of this place is shaped by the Internet then you're going to think the situation is much worse than it actually is.

I know you’re joking about LaRouche, but the story illustrates his function, how conspiracy theorists are useful idiots for those in power.

The basic gist of his worldview, that elites do fucked up shit and are colluding against us, is true. But elites don’t want you to know that, so they amplify figures like him who wrap the truth in so much crazy shit that it discredits opposition to them.

Cloudflare is working on encrypting SNI.

I like that countries like the UK are trying to pull this shit so we can repair security holes in the internet.
How ironic, the effort to kill the internet only made it stronger and harder to control.
Chaotic Evil stupidity.
You'd call what the UK is and and doing Chaotic Evil? At this point, wouldn't it be Neutral Evil Google vs. Lawful Evil United Cuckdom?
Should I even read this crap? Do I really need to boil my blood today?

Here is a suggestion for the U.K folk for porn. Bum the local mosque's wifi since the U.K police are too inept to look there for anything illegal.

Essentially, it's the UK trying to impose soft counterterrorism measures (like community engagement to counter radicalisation, etc.). Hard counterterrorism is killing terrorists where they stand.

A massive part of soft counterterrorism is having discussions with people who get angry about the attacks and can be radicalised (like that osborne bloke in this article, or the other homegrown terror attacks that have happened in the UK) and convincing them that their ideology is wrong and therefore causing them to step down from the "gonna ram a car into pedestrians" pedestal.

But that is now considered "Hate Speech" and could cause hurt feelings and therefore is haram. So instead, the UK looks to essentially fake it and try to control the majority dialogue of the day, not realising that by doing that they are causing more people to feel socially isolated by having feelings they don't share with others, which is a main factor in radicalisation.

Essentially:

If fetishes need to be banned because they're oppressive, yet fetishes often come into being as a reaction to what is forbidden/verboten, then how does a police state ever actually stop its citizens from defying their authority?

Its almost like people are people and not mindless flesh sex slaves that they can whip and work for free labor until they're used and abused and then toss away.

Who knew!

Europe hasn’t ceased to exist because of migration; It ceased to exist when it’s Soul died in the First World War
The Migrants are merely the maggots that come afterwards, when the body has begun to rot

I would like to say that I've never heard anything this stupid. Sadly, I've heard this exact shit many times before. It's still retarded like nothing else.

While it's unfair to blame all the ills of Europe on WWI, I struggle to think of anything positive to come from that clusterfuck.

How about modern world? It's all fine and dandy to be edgy and claim that modern world is degenerate and whatnot. But the cold truth is that compared to what we had 100 years ago, it's a fucking paradise.
