A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Labour lose Bradford to No Overall Control, 15 seats to declare left. Sky News ''... it could get a little messy for the diverse communities there''. Liked how she pronounced it die-verse.

Over 100+ ex Labour councillors have written to Keir telling him to kill himself NOW NOW NOW

There's some Restore drama going down with some woman claiming she was banned from going to some Restore Youth meeting because she used the word remigration and praised the all White British councillors in Yarmouth. Seems to be a local decision not an HQ decision.

An absolute fucking honk honk moment. True clown world that.

They both lost? Interesting. So literally every left wing party did bad? Interesting.
I think the way to look at it honestly is to say that Labour and cons got assraped, Reform did very well; and the muzzies vote for their own indie candidates. I imagine that there will be a proper Muslamic (raygun) party forming before the next GE.

What I mean is other than the single independent one every single left leaning party lost seats. Despite all the talk about oh the greens are going to win because the right is split two/three ways and everything the greens still lost seats. Massively retarded to do so, but assuming shit stays the same for a general election then I'd be willing to bet that the greens don't simply become labour 2.0 and instead a decent amount of votes still go to labour, more to greens, but the majority of current labour voters simply just don't vote. Reform won, yea, but the entire left wing in general lost more than reform won.

So there is two Scottish Green MSPs that are trannies and one is a jeet that doesn't even have permanent residency after staying for five years and needs a sponsor to do.

They haven't even sat in the fucking parliament and already there's been an uproar with them. This is why I support Open List instead of a Closed List voting system for the AMS system. At least people can see and lookup which candidate is a fucking troon and avoid electing them.

At least something funny appears to have come of the the list vote system.

“independent green voice” is an arch unionist and former BNP member, who has set up a party with green branding and some actual policies that you could call environmentalist (organic farming and such).

Well anyway he managed to get 1% of the vote in one seat, and the Green Party are seething because they only missed out by 0.3%, and blame this on their voters being too stupid to tick the correct box and accidentally voting for a racist :story:

She should know better to not say the silent part out loud in current state Britain. You are just begging for trouble with the authorities.

He also did this in the last election and it also cost the greens back than too. Man will keep the hustle as long as he can.

For the local elections that was one of the few times I've really enjoyed voting. I went in, ticked Reform twice and had a normal work day.

Then on friday I check the BBC live tracker and see the number of Reform wins go up. We started with 2 before the election. 400, wait 500. Wait 568. I was planning on making a community happening post sooner but the number of Reform wins just kept going up every 5 mins or so. This party came from fucking nothing I was watching us build it in real time. I said fuck it I'll do the community post tommorow. I'm not updating it that fast lol.

Borderline OD on Hopium watching that light blue bar go up. Yeah, I know it's not a perfect party but whatever. I also know turnout in local elections rarely gets past 45% on average so maybe it might not carry over to an election. But it's better than no hope.

If you were able to vote in this, I love you, even if you had to vote tactically for another party to keep the Greens out.❤️❤️❤️

For as much shit as I give the British that is one thing I'm extremely jealous of. the high rate of involvement with, and interest in, local politics. Hopefully we can change that in America because otherwise we're going to keep ending up with people like Vivek Ramaswamy as candidates up and down the ballot.

So credit where credit is due, good show, jolly good show.

Someone is also going around claiming 'Zoomer Historian' and a few other social media accounts who post Restore content are 'banned', but they have all come out and said this isn't true- they just don't attend the events because they think it's a bad look for the party. I think she's just a trouble maker tbh and the event organiser told her to knock it off until Restore has more roots down.
I am highly suspicious of any social media/commentator types making accusations anyway, particularly fags and women, because they have a BPD tendency to crash and burn the movement up, or are glowing. I'll save the schizo posting for later tho.
EDIT: this was her offending tweet, and then wordswordswords because she was told to not come to an event. Lowe did not make the decision, it seems to be local.

Please read.

Today, I was supposed to speak at the Restore Britain youth wing launch in York. I was asked two weeks ago and jumped at the opportunity because like of all us I want to get behind something real.

However, I received a message this morning to say that because of what I tweeted last night that those higher up would rather me not speak at today’s event.

The tweet in question:

A picture of the newly elected Restore councillors with the caption, “Exactly what British politics should look like. White. British. Proud.”

To say I was taken aback doesn’t even describe it. I fully understand that a new party must be strategic and bring people along gradually. That’s why I immediately asked whether the issue was solely this tweet. The answer was yes.

Given what Restore, Rupert, and other senior figures have openly said in the past, this decision has left me at a complete loss. While preparing our speeches we were also told we could not use the word “remigration”. Of course, this didn’t sit well with me, but like I say, I’m wise enough to understand that an emerging party needs to be strategic and bring people along gradually. Regardless, I do feel we are at the stage where this is a widely accepted term across Europe and the UK should follow suit.

I want to be clear, this isn’t just about me personally. It’s about the broader direction. While I support the need for careful messaging to win wider support, these two incidents together have left me feeling blindsided and concerned.

To those who have followed me since 2020, you know where I stand. I have always put England and the United Kingdom first. I left a previous organisation last year for the very same reason. I will not compromise on core principles. I remain unashamedly Britain First, and I will continue to speak and act with honesty and conviction.

I have decided to share this information because if this was Reform, for example, the public would want to know and rightfully so. I believe in transparency and holding everyone to the same standard, especially those who present themselves as an alternative to the failed status quo.

This isn’t a tweet to turn everybody against Restore. I hope and pray these are just teething errors. However, whoever these people are that are “higher up” (as it always is), they need to decide exactly what Restore stands for. You cannot champion British identity in public speeches and interviews, only to quietly punish those who carry the same message. Clarity and consistency matter, especially the times we now live in. The British public are vulnerable.

Today I would’ve spent eight hours travelling, four hours to get to York and hours back. I was still allowed to attend the event but in all honesty I just feel completely flat. I poured my heart and soul into my speech and really wanted to share it with everyone and help Restore attract more keen young voters. I tweeted this last night, so why a decision wasn’t made then is beyond me. Not to mention, my stance on the UK and immigration was public information when I was invited to speak. Poor organisation and a complete lack of communication. Not to mention I feel completely disheartened and once again questioning who is really pulling the strings.

I want to reiterate that this is not an attempt to try and ‘destroy’ Restore. All the efforts that went into Great Yarmouth recently was truly a sight to behold. It made me emotional to see so many people campaign and travel from all over to make a difference. This is the Britain I want to see.

I will leave this here. I just think the British public are owed full transparency. After everything we’ve been through it’s the least we deserve. I will continue to speak the truth and always put Britain first.

Thank you for the continued support. I appreciate you all.

Keir is saying he wants to be PM for another 8 years and will fight any leadership challenge. "I’m not going to walk away from the job I was elected to do in July 2024". Fuck me, 8 years? we won't have a sodding country left.
